Kevin Martin: ‘I’ll Be Back to My Pre-Wrist-Injury Form’

Martin is making Rockets fans and observers some fairly bold promises. Reports the Houston Chronicle: “One way or another, Kevin Martin pledges to be unrecognizable. Having heard the speculation that the Rockets would be interested in acquiring Carmelo Anthony and knowing such a deal might have to include him, Martin made an offer to at least look the part. ‘If Houston wants Carmelo that bad,’ Martin said, ‘on Halloween, if I’m still here, I’ll dress up as Carmelo.’ Martin said that even without the Anthony get-up, he will bear only a vague resemblance to the player who finished last season with the Rockets. ‘I’ll be very different,’ Martin said. ‘I’ll be back to my pre-wrist-injury form. I’m feeling better, more like I was before the injury. That was the main goal, to get back there. My goal when I got traded was to fit in with a great group of guys, not try to be that person that came in here thinking he was going to take every shot. That fitting-in phase is definitely over. Now I’m ready to get back to being myself. Nobody has seen the real me yet. I’m ready to take off.’”

I’m sorry but KMART did not deserve the FAT contract the QUEENS gave him a few years back when they were a lottery team and were desperate to get anyone. This dude seriously has one of the ugliest shooting forms on his shot also. He also got some hype because he was putting up close to 25 points on some sorry Queens teams that had no scoring option. Rocket fans I feel sorry you guys relying on him to be your 2nd scoring option after Yao and that’s if Yao can stay healthy this season.

I hope Clutch City forces him to dress-up. I want the shooting sleeve, calf-length socks, signature kicks, (real or fake) ink, thin ‘stache, and the pre-Obama cornrows. Did I miss anything?

Dude gets buckets .No one can deny that……..

  • JTaylor21

This guy is HIGHLY OVERRATED that’s not even funny.

Closest thing to George Gervin today, though a poor man’s version. Like ROYAL said, the man gets buckets at a really good clip.

Don’t matter how it look, k-mart got a burner. Dude gets serious buckets idc what his percentage is. and he gets 20+ ppg being the 2nsd option. Brooks was the first option last year. Look out for the Rockets.

Should definitely be 2nd scoring option behind Yao. But knowing the rockets guards, he will be the 1st option.

Yeah, him and Yao. I’ll believe it when I see it.

He was very good, and he’ll be very good. The Rockets have an All-Star in him if he stays, and should the Melo trade go down, Rockets have guys stacked at each position to fill in for him. Let’s go Rockets!

Ugliest jumper in the league, but very accurate. Legit scorer, decent at other things but can score in variety of ways all game.
