Knee Surgery to Sideline Jason Williams 4 Weeks

Whit-Eboy will be on the chilling list for a month following surgery on his left knee. From the Orlando Sentinel: “Orlando Magic point guard Jason Williams will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Thursday morning to clean out debris. Coach Stan Van Gundy has been told that Williams will miss three to four weeks, and Van Gundy said there is a chance that Williams will be ready to play in the Magic’s regular-season opener on Oct. 28. ‘In a training camp setting, you’d like to make sure you have three point guards, but it was really the only option for him,’ Van Gundy said. ‘It’s nothing major. He’s got some stuff floating in there. It’s not going to get better unless he gets it cleaned out. He didn’t really want to have it done, but there really wasn’t a lot of options.’ Williams and newcomer Chris Duhon entered training camp in a competition to back up starter Jameer Nelson. But Williams’ injury almost certainly means that Duhon will be the second-string point guard when the season begins.”

Love when vets wait till right before the season starts to get some cut up. Sit out training camp, come back half way thru the season, and get paid the same.
