Kobe Bryant’s Knee On The Mend

Yahoo! reports: “Kobe Bryant doesn’t know how much his surgically repaired right knee will allow him to play in the preseason, but he does plan to be on the court for the Los Angeles Lakers’ Oct. 26 season opener against the Houston Rockets. ‘If it’s ready to roll, I will play,’ Bryant said. ‘It’s tough because I don’t like talking timeline or timeframe because people get all antsy. When it’s ready, we’ll roll. I can’t see [missing the season opener]. That’s so far down the road. With where I’m at right now, strength-wise, it’s very, very good.’ Bryant, 32, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee July 23 and was expected to be ready for the start of training camp, which began Saturday night. He was bothered by the injury last season and needed to have the knee drained during the first round of the playoffs. Bryant said his knee feels a lot stronger now, but it hasn’t been truly tested yet. While Bryant didn’t have a timetable for his return, Lakers coach Phil Jackson is hopeful Bryant will play some minutes in the preseason.”

Another excuse for Kobe to sit out the preseason. If this guy was smart enough, he’d use the preseason as a vehicle to get into playing shape, even though he’s an arrogant veteran thinking he’s too good for it.

    more dumb comments, shocker.

cosign Jukai. the “nub” nerve is an idiot. Just stop posting. Or learn how to spell at least…

I was on here, late at night reading comments and FTR, Sam’s comment is “comment of the day”, that takes the cake lol. Yeah, he better get into game shape, Kobe the slacker, always taking time off and not wanting to play.

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

Kobe knee will be fine, even if it isn’t he still will play. Kobe is a rare breed and will play hurt, but he knows he has a chance to get another three peat and I believe he would play injured every game just for a chance at another ring.BOOK IT!!!

Mind you: Kobe’s knee is feeling better? Mine would be too if I’m expecting the 2nd greatest threat (behind Durant) in the West, to stop me from getting back to the NBA Finals!? Kobe to others: Hey Steve Nash…you feel like going to Toronto after all right?? Brandon, Brandon Roy…Greg Oden called, he said you should think about calling Chris Paul, he’s getting an apartment in Brooklyn and was looking for a roomie!…”

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    * Sorry I left out the pertinant point that Kobe was expecting that Carmelo could be heading East… thus making his knee feel better.

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

@Klav – I’m thinking half of these trolling comments are just other users/commentors under another guise…thats right Ben Osborne and Russ Bengston, I know you got some ‘nerve’.
    hyuck.

  • Mike from Spain

What was the diagnosis of Kobe’s injured knee? He might miss some games at the beginning of the season if getting in shape after the surgery takes longer than expected… maybe those perimeter defenders Lakers got this summer will let Kobe play less minutes until he’s better. The good thing for the Lakers is that Gasol is in much better shape now than in the beginning of last season. What happened to Bynum? I haven’t heard from him in a while

THE FOLLOWING COMMENT IS FOR THE TROLL, ‘The Nerve’:
    ____________________________________________________
WASHINGTON (AP) — Hobbled throughout his comeback by a painful right knee injury, Michael Jordan is taking a break to have arthroscopic surgery.

Jordan was placed on the injured list Tuesday for only the second time in his career. He will have to miss at least five games, starting Wednesday night at home against Portland.

The prognosis won’t be known until the team physician, Dr. Stephen Haas, performs the surgery. Jordan committed to play two seasons when he returned to the court last fall.

“He’s got to go in there and just find out what’s causing the irritation and why his knee is continuing to swell,” Collins said. “And depending on how much work he has to do, that will be the deciding factor in how long Michael will be out.

mike never had all those issues.
    _____________________________________________________
Mike did have those issue in his career – he played hard always he pushed himself always. Kobe Bryant follows that mantra I’m sure. There those the school bell goldielocks.

oh man, how much time do I lose reading the coment section, much better than the original article…

Kobe has already proved he will play even with only one leg and one arm, I think there’s no doubt about it. And MJ played 1072 (+ 178 in PO) regular games entering the NBA at 21 AND retiring twice AND playing till 40 yo, while Kobe has already played 1021 (+ 198 in PO)entering the NBA at 17 and still being 32… and non-stop, so…

Kobe is top 8 all time any day now, we’ll see when it’s said and done. And 2nd best at 2 all time behind you-know-who

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Even though I can’t understand HALF of what you guys are typing (how do you type in Ebonics?) Kobe’s been in the for about half of his life on earth. Pretty amazing. ^^And I said that already; when I found out I was arguing with people about things they weren’t alive to see. So I stopped arguing.
