Kobe Itching To Get Back On Court

According to Luke Walton, Kobe’s about ready to get back to basketball. Via Lakers.com: “‘I’ve seen Kobe at the gym the last couple weeks rehabbing his knee. He’s itching to get back on the court. He shows up every morning at 7 a.m. at the team’s facility and is kind of wrapping up around the time I get there at around 9 a.m. Kobe looks great – he says his knee feels great. He’s just about to start doing basketball workouts again and can’t wait for it.’”

  • drosefan Posted: Sep.5 at 9:28 am
Kobe is the real King. Let’s be honest here. LeBron has yet to even win a championship, so what is he the King of? Bad publicity? Looks like another ring this year for the Lakers regardless of what Miami does. They’re too small for Gasol, Bynum and Odom.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Sep.5 at 11:20 am
LeBron is The King of basketball, to put it simply.
    Period.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER Posted: Sep.5 at 11:40 am
EPIC: Luke Walton Vs. Brian Cardinal

  • Whisp Posted: Sep.5 at 12:34 pm
i can’t believe how many d*ckriders are reading Slam .Get off Lebron’s balls men….king of what? gimme a break ..dude is a STIFF traveling piece of muscle who has a game based on power no improvisation no signature movement/shot/ no ”spark of genius” no nuthin`… Also,i bet 85% of lebron’s fans are under 16 or wearing high heels. All this crap while Kobe’s work-ethic is becoming a legend itself.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Sep.5 at 1:19 pm
    @Whisp:
It seems like you are especially annoyed with the reality of what is present today, which is The Kingdom of LeBron.
As much as you may dislike, resent, or rebel against The King… he is STILL The King.
Now, you referenced that members of the gentiles are performing acts of debauchery and homosexuality concerning The King.
Well, how can you imagine such imagery?
You are not in the minority, though.
You are not the only one who procures such vulgar imagery onto the threads of The Great SLAM.

  • Donovan Posted: Sep.5 at 1:19 pm
So Whisp what u are trying to say is that you would rather be a Kobe d*ckrider?

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.5 at 1:20 pm
    @Wisp, YOU MAD

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.5 at 1:26 pm
^^^^Looks like we have a NEW black mamba lover on this site. Kobe has brainwashed all you bi**hes so much that you suckers think that ball-hogging, shooting 6-24, being overrated on defense, getting lit up for 60, chasing the MDE out of town just because he SWEARS he can carry a team, bit**hes and pouts like a female then gets PGasol in the most lopsided trade in history, gets his a** handed to him in 08 by 38 points, get’s carried to another chip in ’10 by Gasol and his teammates and I also forgot; LT’d A FEMALE and then paid off the broad to keep it out of court, WOW what great player and role model, NOT. Gasol was the laker’s BEST player last year and the BIGGEST reason they’ve won 2 chips in a row not Kobe.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Sep.5 at 1:27 pm
You may really love The King on the down low.
You are speaking of certain parts of his body that non – homosexual men normally do not allude to when discussing another man…
Now, for the record, I have nothing against a gay man.
    I am not gay.
You may or may not be gay.
But, I would not be suprised if you are, for many people are.
But you are truly exhibiting gay tendencies when discussing his… you know.

  • hangtime Hec Posted: Sep.5 at 2:03 pm
What does Kobe being a terrible role model have to do with him being a effective basketball player? I always thought that it was funny when discussing certain players that many times people use exploits outside of the realm of basketball to evaluate a players worth. Like Kobe being a rapist is the crucial element to gauge his talents.

  • Mr. Robinson Posted: Sep.5 at 2:11 pm
Some people are talented at raping women.
Maybe thats what they gettin at.
    HA!

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.5 at 2:12 pm
Kobe’s a great player but an efficient one he’s NOT. Shooting 45 percent is not being efficient while avg. only 5 assists, check out the shooting percentages of guys like MJ, Wade, and Bron, all guys who’ve shot above 48FG% many times in their career while putting up great assist numbers. I’ve always said that Kobe is a bigger AI with better teammates while led to rings.

  • Flashback Posted: Sep.5 at 2:39 pm
So King LeBron… How does kobe’s ass taste?

  • IAMORANGE4EVER Posted: Sep.5 at 3:52 pm
Kobe better have his MAID have a look at that itch he got.

  • ab40 Posted: Sep.5 at 5:55 pm
    morning workouts are great.

  • J Dizzle Posted: Sep.5 at 9:38 pm
JTaylor21 is so bitter towards Kobe it’s not even funny. No one cares about your numbers or your stats. Kobes the best in the game right now and he has the rings to prove it. Every championship team has more than one marquee player, so don’t discount Kobe for having Gasol. When a guy has a ring for every hand on his finger, it’s not luck, it’s greatness. Now get over yourself and use that negative energy you have for something useful in your life mang.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.5 at 10:32 pm
Oh yes the Kobetard response to FACTS is he has rings not the team, blah blah. So robert horry due to his 7 rings was the best in the 90/00s huh? Child please, kobe’s the third best player in the league and KD/CP are closing fast while he’s slowing down.

  • [...] Kobe Bryant cannot stay away from a basketball court for too long.  During the season, Kobe never wanted to take a game off due to injuries.  He is rehabbing his knee this off season, and his “itching” to get back on the courts. [Slam Mag] [...]

  • J Dizzle Posted: Sep.6 at 12:38 am
I didn’t say he was the greatest because he has 5, I just meant he obviously is championship caliber. I know Horry had more. Kobe’s the best all around right now. Coming out of surgeries and injuries he still found ways to improve his game and stay at the top and get a second consecutive championship. Put down the haterade man. I don’t like certain players in the league all that much but I don’t go out of my way to hate on them (especially when they are winning or NOT winning championships). You’re the child, grow up JTaylor. Anyone who reads your comments here knows you’re full of it and you never fail to make yourself look like a fool. You think anyone who likes this guy is an idiot, and that makes everyone else KNOW that you’re an idiot.

  • J Dizzle Posted: Sep.6 at 12:39 am
It’s people like JTaylor that really make the internet a bad place to have a decent conversation.

  • Negetivekreep Posted: Sep.6 at 12:58 am
^^^^ This comming from the guy who has made the following statements: “MJ is not the g.o.a.t.”. “Stockton was a better ball handler than Zeke”. “J.R. Smith is a top 5 shooter in the L, better than Kobe bean Bryant”. No joke folks, Jtaylor really said all of the above. Seriously. Dude has less credibility than a $3 dollar bill.

  • cheers Posted: Sep.6 at 1:10 am
dam… less credibility than a three dollar bill. haha good one. Why would people read this kid comments, he has no credibility, no point in wasting your time..

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.6 at 1:10 am
@NKreep you just love reciting my QUOTES huh, must love me the same way u love the mamba. Of course MJ’s not the GOAT because there is no goat, I never said that JStock was a better ball handler than Zeke only that they were equal in that aspect, and yes JR is a better 3PT shooter than KB. Kreep, you better state true facts before you try to slander someone else, little BOY.

  • the professor Posted: Sep.6 at 2:36 am
people can’t move on..that’s why..they just settle on the past..

  • total scrotal implosion Posted: Sep.6 at 2:49 am
Kobe is 6 10 and can play center but doesnt want to

  • Negetivekreep Posted: Sep.6 at 2:49 am
Lol, thanks for proving my point son, And for the record it is a TRUE FACT that you stated: “J.R. Smith is a top 5 shooter in the NBA” “better than Kobe”. I understand why you wouldn’t stand by such idiotic banter…after all that’s like saying Craig Hodges was a better shooter than MJ because he shot a higher % from 3. But, YOU DID TYPE THAT. So ok player. Backpeddle all u want. Like Jeru said ” ur playin ya self”. So no I don’t love you, Regardless of what your mother has told you. but I ain’t mad at you either, and I’d be lying if I said I found no comedic value in “reciting your quotes”. Bottom line, to “slander ” someone would require false acusations. I didn’t say that you were a closet Kobe lover/stalker (though you would fit the profile, hmm…) I said you have less credibility than a $3 dollar bill. So like I said…

  • J Dizzle Posted: Sep.6 at 5:41 am
Word up to Negativekreep. Still don’t know why I or anyone else wastes time with guys like him, but sometimes fools need to be told what’s up. Keep it real yall.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.6 at 9:00 am
Kobe is really 6’2 and can lead the league in rebounds, blocks, and steals but he doesn’t want to.

  • drosefan Posted: Sep.6 at 9:14 am
Kobe is the best in the league. LeBron knows it. D-Wade knows it. Kobe would stop LeBron and Wade before they could stop him. MJ is the greatest of all time. Had no weaknesses. Just like Kobe has no weaknesses. LeBron still can’t shoot the three with consistency. Neither can Wade yet. Kobe makes shots routinely that neither one of them would dream of taking.

  • drosefan Posted: Sep.6 at 9:20 am
If LeBron was the King, he would bring players to him, not go to play behind D-Wade. Fact. What King do you know who leaves his Kingdom? J-Taylor, get off the LeBron/Heat bandwagon. It comes out now, you just don’t like Kobe as a person. That stuff in Colorado has been long over and done with. When it comes to basketball, Kobe is still the Man. Anyone with eyes could have seen that Kobe was and is the best player on the Lakers. People keep referencing his 6-24 game in Game 7….he had 15 rebounds. He found a way to still be productive when his shot was off. LeBron was at home watching it on tv just like the rest of us. And just like he will be doing next June.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.6 at 9:48 am
drosefan when has Kobe ever shutdown anybody let alone DWade or Bron. It’s funny that kobe fanatics never state facts or choose to ignore them when try to GAS up his greatness. Didn’t Agent Zero dropped 60 FREAKING points on him a couple years back, DAMN!!! I’ve never seeing a allegedly “GREAT” defender get LIGHT UP so bad as kobe was that night, it goes to show that his being so OVERRATED as an defender for such a long that it’s a joke his being named to the same amount of first team defense as the GREATEST perimeter defender of all-time, SPippen. Also Bron give him and the worm wannabe artes 37/11 last year and 41, gamewinner few years back, so who did he shut down. Same with DWade who gets by him with ease and shoots over him with even greater ease. Kobetards have to start stating FACTS and REALITY instead of living in LA LA land.

  • rnz Posted: Sep.6 at 9:49 am
@ Whisp : I don’t get people who hates lebron so much it clouds their judgement..don’t get me wrong, I’m no LBJ fan, as a matter of fact, I find him somewhat of a d**ck because of the whole “the decision” thing played out..but to say that he has no spark or whateve is just plain dumb….anyone who knows how to dribble a basketball knows that LBJ is a freak! I’ve always believed that people commenting on this site knew what they were talking about…dude’s like Whisp here is making me hard to believe

  • Mr Peace Posted: Sep.6 at 9:55 am
Why can’t we just be all friends :)

  • drosefan Posted: Sep.6 at 10:02 am
    JTaylor
When has LeBron or Wade shut down Kobe? LeBron is overrated as a defender. All he does is the blocks from behind…doesn’t make him a good defender. One game Arenas scores 60…did you watch it? Was Kobe even guarding him? You aren’t a knowledgeable basketball person so I understand your ignorance. You’re a blind LeBron James fan just as most of his fans are. LeBron’s not nearly as skilled as Kobe. He’s just strong and athletic.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.6 at 10:33 am
Didn’t Bron shut down kobe in the 4th quarter of the game in CLE last year huh, forgot about that one did you. Also if all he does is block shots from behind why did PP have the worst playoff series of his career this year against the cavs when bron was guarding him, riddle me that. Of course the he’s “just strong and athletic” argument that you guys also said about Shaq when he was DOMINATING and carry Kobe’s a** to 3 chips. You clowns are IDIOTS if you think that being strong and jumping high is all you need to become GREAT then where are the JWhites, JDorseys, and all those great athletes that never made or struggled to stay in the NBA. Also wouldn’t JSmith be a GREAT player based on the fact that he’s just as athletic as Bron? I guess that court vision, rebounding, defense, driving ability, finishing around the rim with either hand and shooting ability doesn’t equal to having skills, right. You guys are gonna have to making a better argument than he’s just strong and athletic.

  • Mr. Robinson Posted: Sep.6 at 11:44 am
    @The Philosopher:
    Where are you man?
    @Jukai:
    Where are you man?

  • drosefan Posted: Sep.6 at 12:59 pm
JTaylor, you have proven yourself to not be knowledgeable regarding basketball matters at all. During those Shaq and Kobe years, against the Pacers, Shaq fouled out of a game in Indiana and Kobe carried his team to a win. It’s not like Kobe was just a role player on those teams. Shaq wouldn’t have won without Kobe. What solid argument do LeBron lovers like yourself have? You mentioned shooting ability, Kobe’s shooting ability is head and shoulders ahead of LeBron. LeBron scores most of his points in the paint which is why his field goal percentage is where it is. Kobe’s midrange and 3 point shot is completely on another level.

  • JTaylor21 Posted: Sep.6 at 1:29 pm
@Drose, if Kobe’s “allegedly” head and shoulders above bron with regards to shooting then why did bron lead the NBA in points scored from midrange last year while kobe was 6th, RIDDLE ME THAT. You see kobetards love to make SH*T up without providing evidence to back up their MORONIC claims.

  • total scrotal implosion Posted: Sep.6 at 4:51 pm
If these last two were kobes, if bulls were mikes, if celts were larry, if la were magics, then the 3peat is shaqs, give the man his credit.

  • cheers Posted: Sep.6 at 5:12 pm
“kobetards” name calling. wow. Grow up kid.

  • hobbes Posted: Sep.6 at 7:56 pm
JTaylor21 do u want my lala friend hook u up with a Lebron shape dcik or sth? let me know

  • the art of deception Posted: Sep.6 at 11:35 pm
so much for reading the comments to see everyone’s opinion of THE ARTICLE. jordan vs kobe vs lebron vs wade. Jordan wins, then kobe, then opinion. Kobe has rings, 2 rings as the leader which is more than lebron and wade. winning is more important than stats.

  • the art of deception Posted: Sep.6 at 11:41 pm
(oh and becuz i know some wise guy is gonna say “does that mean adam morrison is better than lebron?”) Winning rings as the leader of the team is what counts. thats why kobe only has 2 in my eyes which is why even if he gets 7 he still won’t be considered better than jordan.

  • LBJquitter Posted: Sep.7 at 12:46 am
JTaylor knows nothing! LOL! I bet he cant ball thats why he talks and talks and talks! Dumb*ss!!!

  • LBJquitter Posted: Sep.7 at 12:50 am
Bandwagoner + Dumb*ss + Basketball KnowledgeLESS + S*cker + Lame w/out a game = JTaylor Dont hate the playa, hate the game (coz obviously u dont have a game LOL)

  • Breeze Posted: Sep.7 at 1:51 am
Saying kobe is not the best basketball player…is like saying jayz is not the best rapper.reporter ask shaq himself who’s the best in the league shaq states” kobe he the best” I’m the most dominate simple..you tube the three peat ..as in micheal jordan words ” kobe is better than lebron”. So if someone on that level opinion don’t mean nothing to any other idiot that disagree the conversation is over..the nba knows kobe is the best..the nba players no kobes the best..on the redeem to numerous times each player kobes the best..coach K ” kobe is the best player I have ever coached”…these are numerous and way more credible opinions then ours…because they have been in the game they made the big dance their in the A…all these stupid comments about lebron better than kobe…kobe is damn near so impossible that the average fan has to correct him self just to not say whoa this guy might be the best I ever seen…now my average opinion..top 5 dead or alive…period.!

  • givard Posted: Sep.7 at 6:15 am
yo guys cool down for a sec… how can you say kobe is a better all-around player? he is damn not as good a passer, or rebounder, or shotblocker, or athlete. the only to aspects where you can discuss wether Kobe is equal or better than lebron is shooting and man-to-man defence. shooting is a no-brainer, as kobe is great in that aspect, and man-to-man defence is up for discussion. and i know that “they’re are not comparable in rebounds and blocks cus they play different positions! *cry*” but then “the black mamba” should put up way more assist than bron since he plays guard and lebron is a forward… so what i’m really trying to say is, the torch has been passed on, lebron is the best in the game right now

  • SpaceJam Posted: Sep.7 at 11:30 am
@ givard. Kobe can’t put up more assist he plays in the Triangle offense. Name me one person who averaged 8-9 assist in the triangle offense. Plus Mike Brown was all over Lbj’s d*ck and let him do whatever the hell he wanted. @ JTaylor21, you need to get off Lebron and and think about all the sh*t you put on these comment pages. Lebron’s can’t shoot because his shot mechanics are terrible. He can dribble very well for a person his size. But the other stats are b/c he can jump higher run faster and muscle everybody. He doesn’t have the clutch gene. Kobe is one of the best overall shooters in the league. And Lebron didn’t lead the league in Mid-range shooting. If you look @ the article top 25 midrange shooters, d rose did.

  • SpaceJam Posted: Sep.7 at 11:38 am
Sorry Dirk led the L in mid-range jumpers.

  • Spaceship Jay Posted: Sep.7 at 11:55 am
Lebron’s had a new jumper every year. For the past seven years. Players that are/were great have playing styles that are grounded in fundamentals. If the media and god-nike didn’t exist, would there be so many mind-less Lebron followers? Seeing what’s going on these days makes me second-guess my love for MJ as a child.

  • Blackphantom Posted: Sep.7 at 5:54 pm
“Kobe is better than Lebron.”- Michael Jordan
That’s all I have to say about that.

  • The Philosopher Posted: Sep.7 at 6:40 pm
Jordan is a good judge of talent, now??
