Lance Stephenson Banned from Pacers Complex

He’s been working out at a different facility and undergoing counseling, but it’s clear that Lance is already in the doghouse. The Indy Star reports: “Pacers taking strong stance with Lance Stephenson. He hasn’t been permitted to workout at Conseco since his alleged incident last month.”

Lance is gonna be the R.A.O.Y. (Ron Artest Of the Year)

  • andy

buttt at the end of the day…he’ll eventually get a bench spot at the start of the season, have a few break out games, have an sensationalist article written about him about how much he’s changed and has had to “fight through the adversity” to play good (yes, “good”, not “well”), and all will be quickly forgiven. bunch of hypocrites.

Wut an asshole move, someone who takes their fame and talent 4 granted, smh he gotta mature and fast bc in the league you can be here 2day and gone 2morrow…

  • http://slamonline.com mike

I like that the Pacers are doing this – they want to be represented in the right way and will not tolerate foolishness from this kid

  • Overtime

Whats really annoying is that he has radiated that he’s this kind of guys for ages. Just proving the critics right

  • http://slamonline.com Arthur

This is another example of SLAM hypeing up another NY kid who didnt turn out to be s***. when are ya’ll gonna stop blowing these overhyped NYC kids and show love to TX, Cali, FL, Chicago, Maryland, and GA…thats where all the real ballers are coming from now anyway…..bassy, omar cook, taleik brown, andre barret, kenny satterfield, lenny cook, lance, the list goes on and on…stop living off of the 70s and 80s NY players…just like hip hop..it may have started there…..but that aint the spot no more…1

  • JTaylor21

@Arthur you speak the truth bra but you can’t blame the GREATEST magazine in the World. Slam shows love to everybody and they can’t predict who will be a bust or not. You’re RIGHT about NY ballers being a little bit overrated and over hyped just due to the city’s past reputation for producing great players.

  • mbanga

dude is right nother bum from ny majestic mapp ..erick barkley…julius hodge..the list goes on slam fell off remember the larry johnson cover..yall suck now

  • http://www.shawnkemp.com Masr

FL BALLERS WHEREVER YOU ARE STAND UP!!! sorry it was a “im proud as f(ck moment”. But staying on topic, everybody deserves second chances but damn how many chances did this kid get?

  • total scrotal implosion

Who was the last great baller to come from ny? ………. …… Exactly

  • http://slamonline.com Krishan

BET actually makes a succinct point. Whether he’s in the doghouse or not, he’s got talent. From what we saw artest do last season, it ain’t impossible to overcome bad decisions and a wrecked reputation and turn a new leaf and succeed. He’s either RAOY or JTOY (jamaal tinsley of the year).

  • JTaylor21

mbanga if SLAM sucks why the hell are you on here? Take your punk A** to dime mag.

  • gurkirat

lance will average atleast 15 a game

  • q DA g

u know whats so great about ny….The SPOTLIGHT. yeah the list of overrated, overhyped, and over coddled players run long. but at the end of the day they where glorified busts why cause they was in the spotlight.lance has talent but has what most ny cats have, a high sense of entitlement. they have earned nothing but heard they had it all. i love ny to death. but i also hate what ny bball has become

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Say what you want about NY ballers, but some of the greatest players to ever play this game were from, oh yeah, NEW YORK.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Lance can be very good in the NBA if he gets playing time… But what kind of person pushes their own girlfriend down a flight of stairs (allegedly)? What the f*ck?
And has this been confirmed? I’m a bit out of the loop when it comes to basketball players and their crimes.

  • http://slamonline.com Arthur

Look i’m not lookin for anybody to fail, b/c i aint a hater….but Lance was hyped so early that it went to his head and he felt intitled to everything. and i seen him play…and he hella selfish and anytime someone misses a shot he gets mad…nobody wants to play with someone like that…SLAM trust me i love ya’ll…i been rockin wit ya’ll since ’96, but ya’ll have a tendency to hype NY players a lil more than others….aint dont even get me started on how much ya’ll hyped sebastian telfair lmao

  • Robb

I don’t think Lance is overrated, he’s a pretty good player, his problem isn’t his playing, it’s his immaturity. He just keeps getting himself in all kinds of trouble.

  • e

anybody hating on lance is a complete idiot they will see when he get that R.O.Y he was never overrated he been killing college and pro players since he was like 15

  • e

and get off nyc jock to the haters NYC IS THE MECCA OF EVERYTHING

  • ciroqobama

@ e: ROY?!?! You have gotta be high. Slam comments strike again.

  • Seven Duece

I hope what he’s not guilty of what he was accused of; that’s a heinous thing to do. Basketball talent or not, I just can’t support anyone with that type of violent bent; especially towards women.

  • MikeC.

This occurred to the surprise of….no one.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    Co-sign Seven Duece.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

I think people sometimes mistake immaturity for just being either not too bright or bad. You can be mature but still be a complete @sshole. I’m not saying anything about Lance though, I don’t know enough about him to call him any of those things. Just saying…

  • snuff

hope lance gets his head up and get to show wat he got. he might be a little overhyped, but still. plus i remember he was featured in issue 100!

  • jammal o

teddy at 308 thank you capn obvious. current ny hoopers suck

  • http://itsahardwoodlife.blogspot.com omphalos

Hopefully he’ll be proven innocent and this whole thing will blow over. I say this solely as a basketball fan who can’t wait to see what he can do in the L.

Charles had it right when he said he wasn’t a role model, just an athlete.

That said, I hope he can stay out of trouble with the law from now on and mature; the Pacers are a perfect fit for him so he better not screw it up.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Hey jammal o don’t be one of them!

  • http://slamonline.com Big D

Arthur, you forgot Felipe Lopez in your list…

  • http://slamonline.com Arthur

  • The Philosopher

I’m positive AND sure that you know and understand the game of basketball just as thoroughly as the next person.
Now, that being said, you know and understand that to be able to compete on a division 1 level in basketball AND EVEN get drafted to The League,
    you HAVE to be great.
    Not good.
Those players that Teddy and myself named are great players.
Even those on those lists that did not get drafted.

  • http://slamonline.com Arthur

you do not…i repeat…DO NOT HAVE TO BE GREAT TO GET DRAFTED OR PLAY D1…you dont even have to play high school to play D1…and with so many people getting drafted off potential and not talent..come on sun….you drinking the NY kool aid…some of those ppl dont deserve to be on that list..period..and second…like i said twice before..how many of those players are after 96′…stop living in the past…NY aint producing nuthin but scrubs now…all the best players are not from there anymore….WAKE UP brah…its a new day…

  • pagerDasia

Wow! I had high hopes for Lance. It’s a shame HE took this route. Hey guys, follow me on twitter @pagerDasia. Peacelove&sooouuuullll!

  • myke johns

I have 2 agree with Arthur. Although NY has produced some all time greats. Lately its been mediocre talent at best.

  • Yes.We.Did.

Here’s an idea. Lets stop giving TEENAGERS names like, “born ready”, “chosen one”, and such, and teaching them that EVERYONE in the NBA was a stud in HIGH SCHOOL. Most of them were studs in COLLEGE. But only the ones that work hard and take accountability for their actions become studs in the NBA. Maybe then we get a few less Lance Stephensons, and a few more John Walls.
