Marc Gasol Believes Grizzlies are Playoff-Bound

Gasol tells the Commercial Appeal that he has the same goal for the Grizzlies as his own owner: “Soon after his native Spain wrapped up the World Championships without a medal in Turkey, center Marc Gasol began thinking of the mettle expected from his NBA team this season. The Grizzlies 7-footer is well aware of owner Michael Heisley’s playoff guarantee. ‘We’re all on the same page,’ Gasol said in a recent telephone conversation from Spain. ‘I can’t wait to get back to start working toward that goal. We’re going to definitely try to (make the playoffs). I think we can because we believe in each other.’”

The same Michael Heisley, who until recently, balked at offering Henry a ROOKIE scale contract. Fortune does not favor cheap bast*rds.

It’s possible….nobody who I know predicted the Thunder would have had the season they had in 09-10

Marc Gasol also believes that he’s better than his brother.

I can get down with that. If it wasn’t for AI coming in last year they might have been closer to finishing near the playoffs than they were. It’s not like the Grizzlies are a bad team. The west is stacked though. Their best bet would be for the league to realign them in the east.

I dont see the grizzlies making the playoffs this year, they are still trying to find themselves as a team, so I’ll give them 2 years before they start to make a impact on the league. And Marc only wishes he was better the his brother.

Beasley could learn a lil sum sum from mark. Instead of the “we the team to beat” crap. Keep It simple w/a dash of realism like mark did. It def is possible the grizz could make it. Its not that far fetched. While the t-wolves….

And they’ll reach the same Grizzly (pun intended) playoff fate Memphis is destined to: 1st round sweep.

Doubt it. No more Zach Randolph, no more playoff chances.

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

if they were in da east thats a 6th seed minimum son, in the west…very tough

@Jukai, yeah my thoughts too…but you never know, things in the West are looking a little shaky, especially with all this Carmelo buzz….we’ll have to see.

They still have zach dont they?

  • http://dsjfklf.com Jukai

Damn they DO still have Zach. I don’t know what I was thinking. Okay, well maybe they can make an 8th seed!

If they were in the east they would be. But idk they will make the playoffs maybe a year or two removed from that.

Great team. OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, and a pretty great front court. They have a chance. The only thing holding them back at the moment is their youth and lack of experience.

Lakers, Jazz, Thunder, San Antonio, and Dallas seem like they’ll definitely make the playoffs.

The Blazers and Rockets should, provided they’re healthy.
The Nuggets will if Melo stays.

The Suns will probably play better than expected and might push for a spot. I guess we can say the Grizzlies might have a chance at getting a seed, but I could also imagine the Kings or the Warriors with legitimate chances (if the coaching improves).

Still seems to early for season previews, though…

speaking of realignment, the nba seriously needs to some tinkering. minnesota, oregon and oklahoma in the same division is kind of dumb.

Marc Gasol is a wannabe. STAMP IT!!!!
