Nenad Krstic on Brawl: ‘I Always Have My Teammates’ Backs’

Krstic knows he was in the wrong, but he tells HoopsHype that he had reason to go bonkers: “Do you think your punishment after the Greece-Serbia brawl was fair? ‘I deserved it. But I didn’t deserve the talk in the newspaper. I’m not one person to get in fights on the court, but I was just trying to protect my teammates.’ Like you said, you don’t look like a guy that’s going to get involved in fights. What happened to you there? ‘Nothing. I think everybody who knows me knows that I’m going to have their their back if there is a fight or a problem or anything like that. I always have my teammates’ backs. So there was a fight, I saw my teammate lying down on the court and I tried to help. And they attacked me and whoever attacks me, I’m going to attack him.’”

First, looks like his balls finally dropped. As long as he doesn’t go all pacer in the NBA he should be fine.

I’m a Thunder fan and everything but he hit a big dude in the back of the head and right when that guy got annoyed he turned around and Krstic ran away. And then he picked up a chair and threw it at a guy holding him back. WTF? That means his balls have still not dropped. lol

Agreed. “Whoever attacks me, I’m going to attack them”. Inaccurate. He attacked the guy when he was down, then when the attacked was charging at Krstic to try to kick his ass, Krstic could not back away fast enough. Then Krstic threw a chair that hit the guy right next to him, but nobody else. Horrible.

It was a mis quote. Should’ve read “I always hit other people’s teammates in the back”

  • Jukai Posted: Sep.7 at 12:42 pm
    Attackers move forward, No-nads.

  • Krstic Posted: Sep.7 at 1:11 pm
Screw you guy, Sofoklis was on top of Bjelica who is half his weight, punching him in the back, while he’s on the ground. That’s when Krstic pulled on him and punched him from the back (see it at 30 sec mark of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82D7i_YRiME)
So it’s not like he’s just looking for guys to punch in the back of the head, he actually WAS defending his teammate.

…if this had been any other NBA player he would’ve been banned for half of next season….just being all the way real

  • total scrotal implosion Posted: Sep.7 at 5:00 pm

First off this started as a Olympiacos vs Panathinikos fight, notice how Teodosic of Serbia holds Sofo his teammate to get into fight, and then some guys misunderstood it for Serbia-Greece boxing match. Krstic running from Sofo is totally normal as the man is a train. He is officially listed 375lbs, and has been for a long though he appears heavier each year, but i remember when they played in champions league this year someone said he was closer to 415lbs, and one reporter suspected he was even 485 which is 220 kilos…I dare you stay put when that freighter approaches

I woulda got the crap kicked out of me before I ran away and tossed a chair, TSI.

“…. i also got my teammate’s butts, hence the chair, for them to sit on”, Krstic forgot to add.
