Polladaday: Available Coaches?

Like every year, some coaches will be fired this coming NBA season. When the offseason roles around next summer, and new coaches need to be chosen, who do you think deserves a hire?

If your favorite team was coachless, which of these guys would you want it to hire?

Give me HUBIE F*CKING BROWN. An expired Hubie is better than any guy out there.

I want the man with bags under his eyes drinking the diet coke after a night of no sleep to coach my team. I want the guy who is in the Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame to coach my team. Hint: He’s related to Ron Jeremy.

“MOMMA THERE GOES THAT MAN,” said Mark Jackson, as JVG laps him in this poll.

    Hubie Brown. No doubt

Jeff Van Gundy is a hugely underrated coach. Him, then Mark Jackson. And co-sign JTaylor, Hubie is the man. Fratello is pretty nice too–but still I like JVG a lot.

I’d want Hubie and JVG in that order. Problem is, both guys put so much into coaching that they put their health at risk. Just keep ‘em both in the booth.

JVG all day. Too bad he says he won’t coach again, but I can understand — when the thing you love is the thing that’s killing you, then you’re a wise man to walk away. Wilkens is done – his last 2 coaching gigs proved that he has no fire left. I’d like to see Mark Jackson get a shot, but Fratello – forget it. I’d hate to be a player on any team he coaches — micromanaged on every play and never getting freelance at all. On a dark horse note — what about Paul Silas?

dont know how people can stand hubie brown.

Mark is being slept on as a coach just like he was as a player.

My man Chuck! nah, just kidding…Barkley would be ‘turrible’.

  • Roc

    I would hire Dan Majerle.

I been on my Hire Mark Jackson campaign for the last few years…It looks like thats gonna wait a little while. Honestly I think Mike Woodson should receive some consideration just for the way he was able to bring that franchise back to some semblance of prominence. I remember growing up in Atlanta and them passing out home tickets like flyers- they were giving out tickets for kids with perfect attendance or B Honor Roll and above. A Hawks home game was about good for a date, and the empty seats at the Philips provided a lot of privacy lol. 5 years and he completely built that team from the ground, I was a little broken up when he got the boot…guess thats the trend in todays NBA though…whatayougonnado?

Kobe talks about how B Shaw is capable of leading the team….I just couldn’t quite wrap my mind around him being a coach so early

    HAND DOWN, MAN DOWN!

Maurice cheeks baby! Get him back on the sidelines

@Jer Boi – how can you not love Hubie Brown? He’s the only announcer who uses second-person narrative as his main form of communication. I’d love to my life narrated by Hubie Brown. “So you’re MikeC. and you just got out of bed to start your day. Looking out the window, we can all tell that this day has tremendous upside potential.” Good times all around.

first let me say that I hope Thibodeau has great success. But if suddenly coachless, Silas all day, or JVG if he was with it. Now that the Bulls actually have a post scorer Van Gundy can rock. But I say Silas first b/c I believe he’d be a little more flexible w/ the open court game, and I doubt Jeff will coach again soon.
