‘The Cleveland Show’ Guest-Starring Dirk, LeBron, etc.

A bunch of NBA stars are set to appear in toon form later this month, sayeth the Dallas Morning News: “Nowitzki will have a voice-over role in ‘The Cleveland Show’ which airs Sundays on Fox. The date of the episode that will feature Dirk, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James , Steve Nash and others from the NBA is unknown, but that show will feature the main characters (Cleveland and Donna) scoring courtside tickets to the All-Star Game in Los Angeles. They heckle the players, who then seek revenge by paying a surprise visit to Cleveland to put him in his place. The season premiere is Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.”

It’ll only be awesome if LeBron conspires to screw Cleveland over somehow.

Oh and I first thought of that awful Betty White show “Hot in Cleveland” when I saw this.

those writers should be fired if they don’t get at least five shots in on cleveland during this show.

They should have a scene where a bent-over Cleveland gets screwed by Lebron.

  • MikeC.

Nah, Lebron should just bail on the Cleveland show and take his voiceover talents to The Family Guy with Bosh and Wade.

    sounds kinda boring

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    haha @ MikeC.
This sounds like it’ll be good. But I gotta say, Family Guy/American Dad/The Cleveland show will never be as good as The Simpsons. Real Simpsons heads know what I’m talking about.

  • Loaf

i grew up with the simpsons, the real GOAT of adult cartoons

  • http://Slamonline.com NBA kid

cosign Teddy and Loaf, I do miss the days when every simpsons episode was an absolute knockout. now they’re down to like one every few months….

  • http://dfjklf.com Jukai

The Simpsons to me are like basketball in the 60s… a lot of great episodes, but can it really compete with the shows of today?

  • http://www.twitter.com/jtrain73 Jono

This will likely be the best episode of the series! It’s nowhere near as good as family guy.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

@ Jukai: Yes it can. The newer episodes aren’t as good as the older ones I suppose, but they still are very good, funny, original, smart, and entertaining. Family Guy and all those other Seth MacFarlane cartoons always have several “WTF… Was that supposed to be a joke?” unfunny moments. That’s my opinion at least.

  • http://Slamonline.com NBA kid

@Teddy and jukai, the simpsons today appeal to a different demographic than they did 20 years ago. the simpsons know they can’t compete on a pure humor level with the Seth macfarlane shows so they instead utilize more complex stories and some increased drama. instead of the 12-18 demographic that family guy/Cleveland show go for, the simpsons is more the 21-30 range nowadays

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

^ True, but I still find The Simpsons way more funny than the Seth MacFarlane series’. Family Guy is overrated and I actually used to be a fan of the show from way back when. I still like some stuff from it, but it’s really annoying now. And their cutaways are ridiculously unfunny at times, and just waste time.

  • http://Slamonline.com NBA kid

Agreed Teddy, some of the Family Guy stuff is just made to kill time
