Tim Thomas Appreciates Loyalty from Mavs

Dallas stood by Thomas during a rough stretch last season, something for which he’s thankful. From NBA.com: “Thomas missed most of last season, his first with Dallas. Knee surgery sidelined him initially before leaving the team in late January to deal with something much more serious. Thomas’ wife, Tricia, had become ill and Tim requested a leave of absence to care for her and their family. He never returned. He also wasn’t forgotten. Thomas said every one of his Dallas teammates reached out during the trying times, as did players from around the league. Even though he had only been with the Mavericks a few months and played just 18 games, the outpouring of support from all corners of the organization touched him deeply. ‘That was all I could ask for,’ said Thomas, who decided along with Tricia to keep the nature of her illness private. Thomas kept tabs on the Mavericks from their home in Los Angeles. Watching the first-round exit to San Antonio was especially hard. ‘It was about taking care of my wife, but I watched basketball as much as I could and I always kept up with what Dallas was doing,’ he said. ‘I reached out to everybody right before the playoffs and wished everybody well. Of course I watched the playoff games and thought about situations where I could have helped. It was tough to know that the guys were going to war and I wasn’t there to help, but at the same time everybody was reaching out with their prayers for my wife.’ When the offseason rolled around, Thomas’ competitive juices were flowing again. Tricia had improved to the point where she could care for their two daughters and run the household again. Thomas was ready to give it another go.”

Glad to hear his family is okay. Now we can focus on Tim Thomas the basketball player, and discuss the many ways that he sucks.

Still hilarious how he burned the lakers as a sun. Quite a few clutch shots. Where were mr beans clutch shots? So many say hes the best, where was his best in those series? Hahah

By the way, what happened to that psycho bia dirk had?

  • JTaylor21

@TSI kobe does tend to pull a Houdini in games like that only to pop back up to receive all the GLORY after his teammates save his A**.

You are a dummy, Kobe hit a game winner against the suns and the reason Tim hit that shot because the Lakers bigs did not box out. If the Lakers box out. Lakers as a 7th seed upset the 2nd seed STACKED suns. Kobe was great that series, but Suns had too much fire power. IF Smush, Walton, Odom and Kwame is in your starting five, just making the playoffs is hard, winning a series would have been PRICELESS, but thomas hit it, but to act like JtaylorHATER,age 21 is just stupid cat.

Didnt they compare this guy to Magic Johnson early in his career.. Oh well, veterens win championships..(but not in this case, sorry Dallas)

Im mad at myself for actually reading a seed post, dammit! Kobe hit ONE game winning shot yes, but the rest of the series? Right. One of those games kobe only took 3 shots in the second half. What a quitter, he has no heart, hes a bum, etc. What a superstar champion, pouting, crying, whining and complaining when hes not surrounded by great teammates. This shortly after running off shaq and before demanding to be traded, shttn on bynum. Kobe is the luckiest dude in history of league for jerry west getting chris wallace to donate pau.

Dude you a dummy, he average 40pts a game that series, hit some tough shots, team fell apart, ARE YOU SLOW, he played with Walton, Smush, Kwame and Odom in his starting line up. Game 7 was over from the beginning, when he took like 7 shots for the game. So no other champion pouted, cried, whined and complained. MJ and Magic did and other great players did. Magic ran off a coach, MJ punched teammates and many other great players did other things. Dude Kobe earned everything he has, People forget Kobe average 26 5 5 with Shaq and the last Finals with Shaq they won should have been Finals MVP, watch the tape. Dude you are one of those guys who only see things from one view. How many players in the History of the NBA have hit game winning playoff shots very slim. Kobe is ready cat, and Buss didn’t want Shaq cat, Also Bynum hasn’t played healthy for the team in about three years, still can get Finals and win, but Kobe did nothing. Pau did everything, thats why the Grizzles routinely got put out 1st round year after year. You are a sucker. Also when debating state some facts or stats, just don’t say hating things with no facts. BOOK IT!!
