Wizards Extend Andray Blatche

Blatche has signed a three-year extension worth roughly $28 million, reports the Washington Post‘s Michael Lee. Blatche, who’s rehabbing a foot injury, has been cleared for basketball activities but may not go full-contact during the first few weeks of training camp: “According to two league sources with knowledge of the situation, Blatche agreed to an extension that that will pay him an additional $28 million, plus bonuses, and keep him with the team through the 2014-15 season. Blatche had two seasons left on his deal and could’ve become an unrestricted free agent in 2012, but the Wizards didn’t want to take the risk of letting him go on the open market with the possibility of lockout looming after this season, one source said.”

Good for Blatche! Business must be pretty good in the NBA the way they are doling out these big contracts. Ha ha ha.

Like I said, he’ll be competing with Yi Jian Lian for the starting spot. Blatche is good though and pretty much the future of the Wizards’ front court if he works hard.

Buddy had serious skills. He put it all together those last 15 games. Let’s see if he can do it a whole season. If he does, I fully expect 18 9 and 3

Looking over the Wizards roster, they dont look half bad…Arenas moving to starting 2, Wall running the club bringing Heinrich off the bench..Not to mention Young,J.Howard,McGee,Thornton,Yi,Hilton Armstrong, and a bunch of rookies and d-leaguers.. Might make a little noise out east..

this wiz squad has the talent to make some noise in the east. however, the status quo being what it is, something won’t click right and washington will yet again be out of the playoffs

he’ll be suspended by the all star break & mentioned in trade talks soon afterward.
