DeMarcus Cousins Takes a Shot at Favors

Cuz’s personality is as big as his game. And he’s out to show that he’s the most skilled, physical (and motivated) big man in this crop of rookies. From Marc Spears: “‘I believe everything happens for a reason,’ Cousins said. ‘But I can’t wait to play them because I’m going at their necks, especially the big that got picked before me.’ That ‘big’ is Georgia Tech power forward Derrick Favors(notes), who was selected by the Nets third overall. Favors was the only post player selected among the top four picks. Considering the Nets’ most heralded player is center Brook Lopez, drafting another true center like Cousins didn’t make sense for the team’s needs. After Cousins scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in his preseason debut against Phoenix, he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself when he learned Favors had four points and one rebound in 13 minutes against Philadelphia earlier that night. ‘I’m trying to see what’s so special,’ Cousins said of Favors. ‘…I guess that’s what they really needed on their team. I really don’t know. I feel I was the best big to come out of college. For another big to get picked before me, I have a problem with that.’

    I 100% approve this. Get rid of all the ESPN guys who can’t make up their mind when asked who is better between kobe and lebron like they are worried about offending someone. Kobe went out and said he would beat lebron one on one. We need more of this instead of the PR answers.

    I like it.. Most rivalries are started by the media, I like a good old fashoned player induced- me vs him. (or us vs them from a teams perspective). Not the stupid Melo vs Bron that the media attempted to spark..

    i mean Big Cuz is outta line because its not like he’s not familiar with Favors or he’s like some European player that no 1 has really heard of. He was right in that All-American first team in highschool the same year as Cousins. So for him to be like “Favors who?” is immature because he def. deserved to be picked at 3 just as much as Cousins

    When Favors played Cousins their senior h.s. year on ESPN, Cousins killed Favors. In college cousins was better than Favors. In summer league Cousins was more impressive than Favors. I think Jersey did cousins a favor by not bringing him 2 their losing ass team. Would rather hear Cuzzo call out Blake Griffen. He definetly would’ve gotten picked before him. Hell, Sacramento would take Griffen over him. lol. Be made at that?

    DMC looked like a little lamb boy in summer league against undrafted centers. I want to see him go up against Pekovic, the guy who wears skulls on his bicep.

    This is ridiculous. He’s gonna be better than Blake?! See the Clippers preseason games and then open your mouths. Griffin is gonna be beastin this season. He’s gonna eat up Cousins. And someone should tell him that there’s a developing great center there at Jersey. A waaaaay better player than him. Seriously, he has some ego problems……he thinks Jersey slighted him…..they just wanted to create a complete team. Can’t believe some guys here even agreed with him!

    DeMarcus Cousins will be the Rookie of the Year and should have been number one pick. You can always get a speedy point guard, but polished Big Man with an attitude is hard to find. BOOK IT!!

    He’s horrible, just big and lazy with a very minimal skill set for his size. I bet, honestly, that if you spent 1 week practicing your post moves you would be equally as skilled as DCUZ (wtf??), he just has size. A lot of people know this to be true.

But high draft picks are not lazy [ you kno who to exlude] if the clips curse it obius he has the ultimate overall off def combo. Cant wait for melo to [possibly] chose the nets.
