Doug Collins to Miss Game Due to Concussion Symptoms

It’s not just NFL players getting their bells rung these days; NBA coaches are apparently also not immune to concussions. From the Philly Inquirer: “76ers coach Doug Collins will not coach tonight’s pre-season game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Sixers announced. Collins is suffering from symptoms related to a concussion he suffered on Memorial Day. In his place, associate head coach Michael Curry will assume the bench duties.”

Isn’t memorial day in May? Damn, talk about long-lasting effects. Anyways, hope dude gets well soon.

He probably got the concussion trying to come up with a way to fix the Sixers.

Seriously though, hope the guy is okay.

associate head coach??? is that like a patronising title given to curry as a sign of respect after how he did at pistons?

He just wanted to rest and let the assistant coach get a few minutes of coaching in the next game – he’ll be fined by David Stern tomorrow when he goes on David Letterman to talk all about it.

Yeah. Right. I guess this is more likely than the ‘pulled hamstring’ D-Wade suffered last week, oh so conveniently pulled right before a stretch he is in court…
