Pendergraph Out For Year With Torn ACL

What is it with Blazer centers and knee devastating injuries? From the Oregonian: “Trail Blazers center Jeff Pendergraph has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will be out for the season, the second-year player said on his Twitter account today. Pendergraph injured his knee Thursday night in Utah with 10:48 left in the second quarter of an exhibition game against the Jazz. He was guarding center Kyrylo Fesenko, who drove left and scored on Pendergraph while being fouled. Pendergraph immediately crumpled to the court, holding his right knee with both hands. With Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla rehabilitating knee injuries from last season and not scheduled to return by the start of the season, Pendergraph was set to be the Blazers’ backup center.”

definitely a run of bad luck for these Blazers…sucks considering they’ve been on the brink for the last few years…this is a pretty big set back IMO, trading Outlaw made his position that much more pivotal…….LETS GO BRANDON ROY!!!

i wish the media would stop calling him a center. he’s listed at 6’9″ and barely backed up aldridge last season. i understand they’re just trying to make like the team is cursed and sell papers. either way, this will be a minor set back. at least joel zilla is ready to go so no worries.
