Steph Curry Hurt, Set to Miss Tonight’s Game

Via the very talented Marcus Thompson II: “Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, after watching Saturday’s practice in a protective boot on his sprained right ankle, set a couple of things straight. First, he’s sitting out tonight’s game against the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers because he’s thinking big picture. Second, the highlight-reel crossover dribble by Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon had little to do with him reinjuring his ankle. Instead, Curry contends Blake Griffin’s foot was the primary culprit. ‘My heel clipped his shoe lace,’ Curry said, managing a straight face just for a few seconds. ‘I watched (the replay) in slow-mo. That crossover was only about 20 percent of the reason.’ Whatever the reason, Curry’s ankle is in too bad a shape for him to play again tonight. He did not even make the trip to Los Angeles, choosing instead to stay home and get five consecutive days of “round-the-clock” treatment on his right ankle. The hope is that by 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the Warriors host the Memphis Grizzlies, his ankle will be healthy and ready to go.”
