Brandon Jennings: ‘Some People Are Not on the Same Page’

The Bucks‘ disappointing start to the season is starting to get to Jennings, who voiced his displeasure to the Journal Sentinel: “An unbeaten New Orleans Hornets team rolled into the Bradley Center on Saturday night, and Chris Paul and friends still had a spotless record when they left town. But a sputtering and poor-shooting Milwaukee Bucks team had other things to worry about after its 87-81 loss, a defeat that dropped them to a less than sparkling 2-5 start. And Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings didn’t mince words when talking about the early-season frustrations that seem to be mounting each night. ‘It was just an ugly game for us, and it’s starting to get a little bit ridiculous now,’ Jennings said. ‘Every day it’s something. It’s either shots not falling or we just all break down. Some people are not on the same page. I don’t know what it is, but it’s getting a little bit annoying now. To tell you the truth, I don’t know (what to do about it). Everybody wants to talk and voice their opinion. But I think that’s … Anybody could talk in the locker room. Everybody just wants to come here and talk, talk, but let’s just play basketball and do what we’re supposed to do on the court and then let’s talk or something like that.’”

I havent watch a Bucks game since 2001 when AI was battling against Cassell, Allen and Glenn Robinson. Apparently i didnt miss anything.

Bucs were super hot at the end of last year if I remember correctly… with Lebron gone, people were picking them to be near the top of the central in the pre-season…

John Salmons has to get healthy in order for this team to start winning. He’s out of game-shape because of injury, and he’s still playing 30+mpg. Feed Bogut in the post, it’s a disgrace how he’s forced to set on ball screens for Delfino. WTF? Carlos just needs to sit his ass in the corner for kickouts. That’s where (the majority of) his points come from anyways. Open 3′s. Not from dribble drives and lane attack. Jennings ha also been really passive in at least 4 of the games I’ve watched this year. He’s gotta get into the paint and distribute to Salmons, Bogut, Delfino, Ersan Illyasova etc. Not just sit outside the arc and watch Corey Maggette throw up horrendous 18 footers.

  • TrailBlazing&SportingLisbon

they just cant score, Salmons, Maggete, Delfino, Gooden, etc should step up or they are not going anywhere

Kinda funny that almost every story about the Bucks does not seem to have any info about Redd. Isn’t he still the most expensive player they have?

  • ClydeSays

It’s a little early to start falling apart. Bucks have talent & are well coached. They’ll get it together. They’ll get to the playoffs again…

  • Sparker

every year, there’s a team that gets hot down the stretch and then (mistakenly) believes that it was due to their superior talent. when the season starts, they are then blind-sided by the fact that they are an average team that needs to work really, really hard to win. is this the bucks right now?

  • http://slamonline.com Krishan

@Sparker: Yes. Yes they are. They remind me of scott skiles’s bulls team.
@Leonel: The only convo that should include redd right now is the one where we discuss his expiring 18mill contract. Him leaving this team (or game?) is a foregone conclusion.

Salmons needs to start hitting them shots.

  • Red

Bucks suck. If I remember correctly Jennings himself was talking talking about how his team was gonna grab the central and was one the best teams out.

    Bulls will win.

They have to operate thru bogut.

  • Tyquez

if jenning drive to the basket he will score or get foul if he miss andew got the rebound

  • T-Money

Tyquez: judging by last year, when Jennings drives, chances are that he will not score OR get fouled. Bogut would have a good chance to clean up, though.

I believe I predicted these problems in my post “Let’s Change The Conversation.” Check it out.

In all honesty a few of their losses have just been due to not hitting open shots. And they easily could have beat Boston if they didn’t make some real bad mistakes late in that game. Obviously those are things that good teams take care of, but my point is that they’re just a little off right now and the season could easily be righted. Also, Drew Gooden has been basically worthless. Mbah Moute needs to start.

  • flipnoyce

So why did they sign lazy Magete, still have Redd who has their biggest contract, Bogut playing with one hand, Gooden can’t do jack, Delpino is not a slasher he’s a 3 point threat. Just be you Jennings, its too early to be losing hope!!!

  • bad boys

Salmons is a notoriously bad starter to the season, just ask the Kings and the Bulls

  • rikson

Just keep doing what youre doing… once the shots will fall theyll be fine!
