David Lee: Infection, Surgery, Out

And it all happened when he went “home” to New York to play the Knicks this past Wednesday. The AP has the most recent update: “Golden State forward David Lee has undergone successful surgery to clean out an infection in his left elbow. The Warriors said Saturday they don’t know when Lee will return to action. The former all-star is out for at least a week. Lee stayed in the hospital overnight after surgery Friday in Fremont, Calif. His progress will be updated late next week. Lee cut the inside of his left elbow in a nasty collision Wednesday with the mouth of New York’s Wilson Chandler, who left a fragment of a tooth in Lee’s arm.”

yech … I’ve gotten popped in the face twice, both requiring stitches. The last one chipped one of my front teeth; it would have hurt less if I was making an nba salary though. Still chipped.

I’m surprised this stuff doesn’t happen more. Two people with arms above their heads going for a rebound: those elbows eventually have to come down somewhere.
