DeMarcus Cousins Was Kicked out of Practice

The DeMarcus Cousins trainwreck is taking place in Sac-Town to the surprise of, well, nobody. The Bee has the latest: “Kings rookie center DeMarcus Cousins was kicked out of Monday’s practice. Cousins slipped to fifth in June’s NBA draft because of questions about his maturity and attitude. He was fined earlier this season after a verbal dispute with the Kings’ strength and conditioning coach. ‘It was a necessary move in our continued attempt to help him develop,’ said Kings coach Paul Westphal of removing Cousins from practice. Westphal declined to explain why Cousins made it through only two-thirds of practice. ‘I’m not going to get into details,’ Westphal said. ‘He was asked to leave early.’ Cousins is struggling to find his place in the offense and to stay out of foul trouble.”

After Summer League I thought that picking Favors ahead of him was a mistake, but so far this season I would choose Favors and thats without factoring in upside.

What a knucklehead. Hopefully he screws up so badly the Kings trade him to Detroit for Rip Hamilton or Tayshaun Prince.

i dun know. This guy was an early season ROY pick for me…every time I watch the Kings he’s snarling and getting angry after every foul or opposing bucket, just terrible body language. You wonder if he shouldnt’ve spent another year in college because these were the same issues he had under Coach Cal. Even the Fab 5 decided to come back to UM their sophmore years….

what he needs is a vet who would smack him upside the head when he acts like that.

or make chris webber his mentor, didnt chris have the same label placed on him when he entered the league?

Come on Demarcus get it together were rooting
For you down in Lex ky!!! Go cats!!

I guess I was wrong about him, maybe he is just a head case and won’t get it for a while. I actually thought he would win ROY, because of his strong post pressence and ablitiy to get rebounds. UNBOOK IT!!!

He’s a talent. You don’t give up on talent in this league if you want to get somewhere. He’s very immature at this point but the Kings will work with him. I just don’t know if Westphal is the right dude.

a 6’11 280 pound baby….it’s ashame, I live in Lexington ky and got to see every UK game he played, he’s a beast no question, but you could always tell his head just isn’t right

It’s hard to watch him play so far this year. The Kings can never get a big to do what they drafted him for. Spencer Hawes (let me finish) was drafted for his passing ability and face up moves but he always wanted to show off his horrible post game. Demarcus was drafted to bully people in the post but he thinks he’s Dirk some games.

@The Seed: I thought a ‘BOOK IT’ was gospel, lol! I think he’ll get it together, needs a mentor and some tough love. That’s why these kids should spend more time in school or developing leagues. They have been the ‘sh!t’ their entire careers and can’t adjust to be a roleplayer or just having a particular role.

Egos and losing don’t mix. right now this team just needs to take a step back and check all the egos at the door which is tough when your losing but it has to be done. The lack a a Veteran presence is definitely missing. Old Kings had egos Cwebb being one of the biggest but they found a way to play, trust, and win. I didn’t know how rare or special a team like that was. But I know and miss that now. Share the ball good things will happen. Takes more than just pure talent. (see Miami).

@T-money,i think its the Kings atmosphere in general

Everybody on the Kings’ roster is complaining right now and Tyreke looks bad. Hell, didn’t Beno Udrich just come out and blast the coach a few days ago?
Cousins is a little crazy and crazy people need stability. There isn’t much of that in Sactown right now.

yup allenp, just monitor the players’ rotations and minutes. how can you expect to be successful if there isnt any stability?
