Do Not Serve LeBron James Cold Fries

He will apparently snap. Or so goes the story from this fun anecdote via Yahoo!‘s weekly slandering of LBJ: “The fundamental problem for Spoelstra isn’t that James doesn’t respect coaches – he doesn’t respect people. Give LeBron this, though: He’s learned to live one way with the television light on, and another with it off. He treats everyone like a servant, because that’s what the system taught him as a teenage prodigy. To James, the coach isn’t there to mold him into the team dynamic. He’s there to serve him. Wade was one of the Team USA players who’d watch incredulously as James would throw a bowl of fries back at a renowned chef and bark, ‘They’re cold!’ Or throw his sweaty practice jersey across the court and command a team administrator to go pick it up. Everyone wants James to grow out of it, but he’s never showed much of an inclination for self-examination and improvement. And he’s never surrounded himself with people who’d push him to do so. What’s more, the timing of this leak was no accident, because James and his business manager had to like the idea of someone else going on trial this week. When the public wanted to talk about James’ return to Cleveland, about the callous way with which he left, about the disjointed start in Miami, they thrust everything onto Spoelstra.”

Surprised this piece came from this particular writer. It’s funny that Wojo doesn’t ever write how Lebron fuc*ed his wife…..oops…….

Lebron jus keeps gettin LeBashed and honestly im getting LeBored.

……the point of this article???? I mean we could go in on Michael Jordan about this issue 10x harder couldn’t we? c’mon SLAM, back to basketball please…this is getting like TMZ

  • RobbieJay

LeBron jus keeps getting LeBashed and every day I get more and more LeBored.

    i posted this twice. oops.

wow, breaking news…LBJ is a spoiled kid, BUT don’t hate now what you (media, owners, choaches…) have created!

co-sign Black Rick, i couldn’t care less about this, back to basketball please.

  • KB2412345

i dont care what players do off the court. hence why ive always been a Kobe fan… LeBron iza DI(K, everyone knows it… Whatever, i’m more concerned why he could care less about what he looks like on the court right now. all this talk of averaging a triple double, winning 72+… none of dat sh*t is even close to happening.

  • http://www.twitter.com/CFleguel The Stro Show

For the record every player in the NBA throws their sweaty warm-ups on the ground and has someone pick it up. This guy is just writing with blind hate.

  • SLAM>>>>

I actually enjoyed reading the article even though he is going a little too far with the hate towards LeBron. I find it interesting that he has a different perspective and digs into the real personality of LeBron, something casual fans wouldn’t see. Then again if I was LeBron, I would be extremely annoyed by this guy

  • AT33

Woj is such a hater! Some of the crap he writes is just straight out BS! He seems to have something against LeBron personally though!

    LONG… LIVE… THE KING!!

  • T-Money

When does Woj ever talk about actual basketball? He will keep writing those articles about LeBron because people still want to read them. You could probably dig cold fries stories about every superstar. Celebs in general are jerks. I mean, MJ was (and still is) a jerk. Kobe is a jerk. Shaq is a jerk. KG is a jerk. Who cares about what they do off court (as long as they’re not committing crimes)?

  • http://www.kb24.com The Seed

If you read the entire article from the link, you will see that Wade former coaches and friends feel like he is changing playing with Lebron. Wade clearly likes and has a good relationship with Spo, but because Lebron has a problem with him Wade will not stand up for Spo. Wade—-how can you bring a guy to your CITY AND TOWN and let him run it. Wade is becoming a puppet like Tupac was for Suge Knight then Lebron will off him and go to Brooklyn to play. These guys will hate each other before its all said and done if they don’t start playing with chemistry and work together on the court more, instead of I get mine, you get yours when you are supposely on a hot streak. I think Wade is wondering why I pushed for Lebron and why did Lebron accept and Lebron is wondering is Wade shrinking in my shadow and the Bulls look good right now. BOOK IT!!

Good article, better than the blurb above hints at. LBJ can only run and deflect for so long. Eventually all fingers will point at him if/when the Heat lose.

Let’s b honest. If you cleared 100 million before u turned 19 would u let some1 serve u cold fries? No better yet, if u went 2 McDonalds would u let them serve u cold fries? Adrian Wojnarowski is simply a LeBron basher. He will take any LeBron does (or doesn’t do) and blow it out of context. Yahoo sports articles r 2 opinionated. Unlike Chris Broussard I didn’t c 1 mention of any sources in his article.

  • http://slamonline.com hanson

i think lebron went pro too early and didnt get tough coaches early in hi career to check his ego and hold him accountable,t’s part of the problem of success at a tender age.

  • T-Money

BC: No, he blindly hates him. Is that better? Only if you agree, I guess. The only reason you respect Woj is because he doesn’t like LeBron and you don’t either. If he wrote a column about how D-Rose is a spoiled brat because he ditched a TV appointment, you wouldn’t agree. Because you like D-Rose. If he wrote an article about how Kobe is a jerk to other Laker players and is somewhat aloof. You would argue that he’s doing whatever it takes to win. Because you like Kobe. The counter balance argument is tired. LeBron is not universally praised, he’s universally “covered”. There is as much negative (if not more) negative press on him than positive press – even on ESPN.

  • T-Money

My biggest issue with Woj is: how many times can you write the exact same column? He’s been sayin the same ish for about two years now.

This chef and LeBron have an odd history. It started when the chef barred LeBron from his upscale restaurant in New York, “No soup for you,” and escalated when on vacation at the beach tried to steal the chef’s recipe for his special Krabby patty burger. This went back and forth for years until LeBron wanted it his way and the chef finally told all to take their “Baby back, baby back..”

  • JTaylor21

BC is showing his true colors. So now he respects this moron just because
he constantly writes BS about bron, what’s next? Are you going to say you

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

It’s a shame that Derrick Rose is now the 4th best PG in the league behind CP3, D-Will and Russell Westbrook.

  • T-Money

Negetivekreep: I just don’t enjoy what he writes. It’s always negative or if he’s bigging up one player, it’s only to diss another. He used to big up Kob, just to diss AI. Then he started praising Bron to diss Kobe. Now he praises KD to diss Bron. In a couple of years, maybe he’ll write articles on Harrison Barnes talking about how KD “changed”. Sometimes you wonder whether he just flatly despises athletes unless they shut up and are forever grateful for the marvelous opportunity they got to play basketball for a living.

Anyways, yes most NBA players are divas, but LeBron is like the diva of divas. And I am not the least bit surprised that Woj wrote this article. Dude should just write a book. “101 reasons why I hate LeBron, pt. 1″

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

And it’s an even bigger shame that the Chicago Bulls are the 4th best team in the East while Miami is 5th. Thank heavens for a cake schedule though. The Heat need all the (unimpressive) W’s they can get.

And the problem with this is what?

  • JTaylor21

Just wait till Carlos Boo-his-D comes back and destroys all the defensive improvements the
bulls and thibs have made so far. If a coach like Jerry Sloan couldn’t get the “eyebrow” to
play any defensive whatsoever, what makes you think that Thibs can. He will help the bulls on
the offensive end but just expect the D to fall a few notches. It’s a shame that Taj Gib is going to
lose his staring job because he’s twice the defender but he doens’t get paid 80 mill to shoot jumpers and get abused
    on D.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I actually felt the entire NBA landscape quake with terror with the prospect of Carlos Boozer returning soon…..*shudders in fear* LMAO!!!!!!!!!

  • http://theurbangriot.com The Nupe

This article says more to me about D-Wade than it does about LBJ. I don’t find Woj to be unfair about players as much as always trying to show more about the behind the scenes side of players – and I like some of that. When I first heard about the LBJ fries incident I was more surprised it didn’t get more coverage immediately, similarly to how when Randy Moss got upset about the food at a team meal. Not all famous people (athletes, actors or any other celeb) act like a-holes when the cameras aren’t on them. LBJ just happens to be one of them. While many other players are not (e.g. Wade), I just wished that when things like LBJ-fries and Moss-food incidents happened that players would talk directly to LBJ/Moss about calming down and acting ‘decent’ instead of just standing back and watching it happen and then speaking to the media as ‘a source’.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

That’s better than when the NBA landscape broke out in uproarious laughter when it was Erick Dampier to the rescue in Miami. *still giggling*

Derrick Rose is better then Russel Westbrook. Westbrook does have Durant, you know the guy everyone in the league picked as the preseason MVP, Derrick Rose doesn’t have his second best player. Why do ya’ll have to be so biased that it clouds your judgement on just about everything.

  • T-Money

BC: The player or the person? Woj rarely talks about the player. As far as the person, I don’t know. I’ve never interacted with him. How public personas act in their private life doesn’t really interest me unless it has a negative impact on their performance (which has a negative impact on my entertainment pleasures). Now, what’s special about the player? For starters, he’s a physical specimen without any precedent. No player that big and that strong should be able to run that fast, jump that high and change directions that quickly. What else is special? That the guy with the third highest scoring average in the history of the NBA (behind GOATs like Mike and Wilt) can pass like premium point guards. That he started his career as a very poor defender and is now one of the best at his position (if you don’t trust awards, you should trust advanced stats or just the naked eye – even bottled up Paul Pierce like it was nothing last spring). That he started his career as a very poor midrange shooter but now ranks on par with the elite wings even if it’s not his forté (don’t believe me, believe hoopdata). But of course, he’s not perfect. 1- The post game still looks raw. 2- He takes too many threes. 3- He “heat checks” way too often. 4- He refuses to hack on defense to prevent lay ups. 5- He’s very stubborn. In short, he’s great at scoring himself, helping teammates score and preventing the other team from scoring. That’s a special player to me.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’d love to play ball against BC, I’d have him out of his game in a heartbeat by pulling out a nude pic of Bron holding a “I hate Derrick Rose” sign.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Who said we were placing all our hopes on Boozer, JTaylor? Don’t get it twisted, Derrick Rose was, is and will continue to be the man in the Chi.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

T-Money, if all of that makes LBJ “special” to you, then two things are obvious to me. 1 – you’re somewhere between your early to mid-20′s. 2 – you are drunk off stat kool-aid and smoking the drug of “athleticism.” Those bottom 5 things that you listed outweigh all of the things that came before it because I’ve seen it all before. Maybe not all blended together into one player, but it’s still not really not a big deal to me. Personally, I’d rather see him correct the bottom 5, but we’re in year 8 and he still hasn’t. That tells me he’s relying more on his God-given ability and isn’t working on his “game.” That’s why he bores me and he’s not spectacular because he’s still the same player. His game is old. It’s not exciting anymore.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

Westbrook has literally been carrying Durant all year, so using him as your argument doesn’t work.
On another note we all no that Boozer will make Chicago a better team, one of the best pick and roll or pick and pop players in the league. Of course he will buy into the system have you seen how vocal he is on the Bulls bench. Nawlins are full of players who haven’t been known for defense (Belinelli, W Green, Peja b4 he left). All of these guys have played solid good defense this year and bought into there system.

First off, NO ONE likes cold fries. But people usually don’t throw them. I hope the Heat win enough so that we don’t have to read these kinds of stories every day.

They are a flawed team, but how many perfectly structured teams are there? Wade & Spo won a fair amount of games with less talent. I can’t believe a bunch of professional players and coaches would start sniping at each other after 20 games. Crazy.

  • JTaylor21

Enigmatic, isn’t Booz the reason why the Bulls are considered championship contenders for the first-time since
MJ and his sidekick left town. DRose is a great player but he hasn’t shown the ability to carry a team for long streches especially in the
playoffs, that’s why Booz was brought in and why the bulls wanted either Bosh/Wade or Bron.

  • T-Money

BC: Because the athletes don’t owe anything to anyone but themselves for getting where they are. I remember when Melo thanked himself for winning an award (ESPY?) and all the journalists got on him. I knew what he meant. The coaching he got at Oak Hill and Syracuse could have been provided to him by any top high school and D1 team. His talent, the hours he put in the gym, the sacrifices he made… that’s what got him to where he is. Some people want athletes that make it to act like they won the lotto. They didn’t. They worked hard and smashed an astonishing number of competitors to get the spots they have now and they should enjoy it to the fullest. I want them to speak up, call shots and control their destiny. Writers, coaches (except a few like Pop, Jax and Sloan), GMs, bloggers, TV guys are all easy replaceable by equivalent value. Premier players are not and I’m glad that they’re starting to recognize that fact.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Durant is leading the league in scoring. Defenses are focused on stopping him, leaving Westbrook to reak havoc on opposing PG’s. You honestly think Westbrook would be anywhere near this level if he were the focal point of his teams offense and other teams defenses? And Chicago is not a title contender, thats a ridiculous idea. – I am not agreeing with anyone on what Miami should or shouldn’t do about their coaching/players b*tching situation, but I have to point out that there is no way the best possible offense for Miami is pick and pops that involve Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Carlos Arroyo as the two secondary options. And that falls on the coach.

  • Jackie Moon

Substitute Kobe in for Wade or Lebron, and this Miami Heat team would be undefeated this season.

  • T-Money

BC: You do realize that 2-3-4 and 5 are applicable to just about any star wing player in the league, including Kobe, right?? And that the post game IS coming along midway through his career like it did for countless other wings, Kobe included, right? And that you insist on saying that he only relies on his god-given ability even though his shooting, passing and defense have improved by miles since he started in the NBA? Just checking. The player that he is now and the player that he was 8 years ago are not even in the same league. And you also do realize that the fact you have not seen all of it blended into one player IS THE EXACT REASON WHY HE’S SPECIAL? You know what your response tells me? There’s nothing I could have said that would have made you consider that LeBron is special. Which is your right. Even though it’s a ridiculous position. Even his biggest detractors wouldn’t argue whether LeBron is a special talent. / But I’ll ask you this, if LeBron is not special. Who else is in the NBA right now and what makes a player “special”? I have Kobe, Dwight, LeBron as special talent from an historical standpoint. Everyone else is a remix.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

nbk, I only have a tiny sample to choose from, but Russell Westbrook went into the fake Garden this season…without the games best scorer and led his team, with great stats to boot, to a huge victory against a potential championship team. I’d defy you to tell me he couldn’t do it for extended stretches. Also, if he was shooting as often as D-Rose is scoring average would also rise. You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think he couldn’t.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

JTaylor – The main reason why the Bulls are considered contenders has more to do with the emergence of Rose and Noah, as well as their depth. Boozer is a solid piece, our second best offensive player, one of our “big three”, if you will, but not by any means “that dude” on our team. He brings something we haven’t had since Elton Brand – low post scoring. And he will make the game easier for Rose, Noah, and others. But I think Rose has shown this year he’s capable of leading this team to many W’s. And while the organization and its fans wanted a superstar this offseason, Rose has stated countless times it didn’t matter to him if we had gotten LeBron, Dwyane, Carlos or no one. He was ready to lead this team, and he’s shown so far that he is doing just that.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Allen: 1 – Bron isn’t “special” and the fact that people even think as much is a huge part of the problem. 2, 3, 4, I agree with. 5 – in a Bulls uni, that remains to be seen. 6 – I never said I wasn’t a “hater”…especially when it comes to LBJ. 7 – God bless you.

Bryan C – I normally agree with what you say on here, but I think Bron is special in that his size strength and speed/agility to go with that has never been seen before to that extent. Focusing purely on basketball skills he is far from special.

Eboy considering who your a fan of, and all of the defending you have been doing lately, its a little alarming your judging Russel Westbrook from regular season games, even if they are against great teams. According to that logic are you insinuating the Celtics would lose to OKC in the playoffs, probably even get swept if they had Durant? Are you saying Cleveland is a threat in the east? because they smashed Boston, Are you also insinuating since that same Boston team beat Miami twice, that Miami will struggle to even get homecourt in the first round? I’m just saying, its 17 games into the regular season.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Co-sign ShadiestBen. LeBron is special in terms of athleticism, God-given abliity, the combination of size, speed, court vision, I mean, DAMN. But…as hard a worker as he seems to be, he’s still missing something. Killer instinct, drive, determination, chip on his shoulder, I don’t know what it is, but you get the feeling he could end up being the GOAT if he could just…I don’t know. You know?…no?

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I focus on basketball skills ONLY. Size is irrelevant and speed and athleticism eventually goes away; see Allen Iverson.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

Bron has been doing the same dunk for the last 8 years and hasn’t improved his game at all in the last few seasons. I agree with BC totally. His stats are pretty similar to Dwade but no one talks about how special or amazing Wade is. He being special is just perception constantly being beat into our brains by ESPN. Anytime you see a guy goaltending a shot and it lands in ESPN top 10 you major objectivity problems. He is also very overrated as a leader as evident this year and him dancing in the middle of games last year. He is this generations A.I. but in a bigger package.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

Even if Miami squeeks into the playoffs, what happens from then forward is the only thing that matters. If they win the title this season, even if they go 41-41, all of this, this whole entire regular season will become part of the legend. And all of this LeBron isn’t special, doesn’t work hard enough, all of it, is a crock of sh*t

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

Do you guys seriously see Lebrons game translating to a less athletic 32 yr old Bron? Hell no. This guy is gonna decline so fast…just watch and see.

  • JTaylor21

^This is coming from the same chap that praises DRose for being the exact same player/athlete as Bron except he’s not as good a scorer, rebounder, passer,
defender, and leader. If you think that bron doesn’t impress you then Rose must be boring the sh*t out of you then. @Enigmatic, I understand where you’re coming from
I love Rose too but he hasn’t shown that he can carry a team past the first round so far, maybe he will this year but that will have to do more with Noah’s emergence and Boozer’s
additions. Remember Rose put up great numbers vs the celts and cavs in the playoffs the last few years but still couldn’t beat either, great players can put up great numbers ala Bron
vs Orl but it still takes a total team effort to win in the playoffs.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

uhm I believe what made/makes LeBron so special is his efficiency and consistency, i mean really he has had the best 4 season stretch of all time. But that doesn’t matter to you guys, the team he just joined 4 months ago is not undefeated. lol all these conclusions being drawn are laughable

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I don’t drink “stat kool-aid” either. It’s amazing that nerds who can’t even ball and have never played competitively in their lives have become the foremost authority on who’s good and who’s not and people swear by their every assessment. And I mean stat nerds, not calling anyone here that.

  • http://google c_cantrell

    wtf

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bryan, to be fair, nobody knows for a fact that you can ball either, so stop with the nerd insults. I’m pretty certain I’d wipe the floor with you on a basketball court, but I’m not 6’6″, 240, so seeing my in person would lend you to believe elsewise. Stop it. Most of my working day is spent bulls*itting around here too, which I guess makes me a cyber nerd of some substance, but you couldn’t speak word one to me on a court. You make that assumption about cats too often. Not just today.

  • JTaylor21

All of you guys that claim that Bron doesn’t work hard enough, I have a question; have any of y’all even met the guy let alone been around him when he’s working out? So how
can you sit here and act like you know what he does and doesn’t do. Do you think that bron became 6-8 250+ with blazing speed, amazing athleticsm, great handles, unrivaled court-vision, and a good shooter by just sitting on his a**? If you think so then you must have not worked out a day in your life. What happened to guys like James White and Joey Dorsey who are great athletes but are no where to be found in the L. Don’t speak on something you have no idea about.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

nbk – The best 4 season stretch of all time??!! How may titles did he win during that stretch? That is a ridiculous statement.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

nbk, I was referring to Westbrook’s ability, not the state of the league or the status of particular teams. Westbrook’s ABILITY is beginning to form into his NBA game….it’s pretty solid and slowly becoming spectacular.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

Hey Joey Dorsey started for Toronto the other night!

  • http://djflkf.com Jukai

Sorry I’m a little late, but these could still be slander. Lebron is not going to sue Woj over a lie about fries.
I’m also a bit disapointed in Bryan if he really is a Woj fan.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

ShadiestBen I hope you realize individuals don’t win championships, teams do. The best season(s) ever, can you even tell me what team won the title without using Google? Oscar Robertsons Triple Double Season, Wilt Chamberlains 50PPG year, or Michaels 37 8 8 season, who won the title those years off the top of your head? exactly

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Eboy, we’re cool and all, but I’d bust your a$$ on the court with no hesitation whatsoever…believe that. You’d be light work. And since you missed what I was saying, by “nerd” I mean all of the advanced stat guys out there that people swear by nowadays. If you didn’t play or don’t play and all you do is crunch numbers, I can’t respect that.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I’m a huge Woj fan. Why? Because like Myles said, nobody’s called him a liar yet. Nobody’s written anything refuting any of his columns on LBJ. That tells me there’s truth to it. I like truth.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

I’m gonna go with Boston for Wilts as they won them all around that time, Detroit when Jordan had that and ill say LA when Robertson got the trib dub? Thats a guess though.
Still its a ridiculous statement. You didn’t say statistically one of the best stretches of all time, you just said the best of all time. Ridiculous.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bryan, I feel the same way. You’d be another victim. That’s how I look at cats like you. You know I love you too.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Or if my old memory is serving me poorly, you were the guy that claimed zone defense was the end all be all to defensive schemes and that you would drive all day for buckets. You better get an all-around game, wannabe Bron.!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’m gonna start calling you Bron Crawford.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Your old memory is serving you poorly. I hate zone. I would shoot all day over the top of a zone and drive all day for buckets in man…especially with you guarding me.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

BTW, did Bron Bron sign that nude pic that you say that you have of him, “To Eboy, With Love”? Just curious…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Allright statman…….Bron Crawford….My MAN!!!!!!

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

eboy, so your saying that what Derrick Rose has done the last 2 seasons is less then spectacular. He literally has never played with another top tier player, and has led Chicago to the playoffs every year and took the defending champs at the time (albeit without their best player) to a thrilling 5overtime 7 game series. IMO there is no way to say Russel Westbrook is better then Derrick Rose. unless you judge basketball ability purely off of athletic ability, and potential.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I wasnt talking about Rose either, nbk.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

ShadiestBen its called efficiency productivity and winning. LeBron efficiently produced more wins then anyone else over the last 4 years. And he did it with numbers that have never been matched over a similar stretch of time except Oscar, but he did not have the same type of team success. And if you haven’t noticed a season is 82 games plus the playoffs, not just the playoffs. And once again, its individual production not team production, and if your MVP statement was too me, then you forgot Larry Bird, he went back to back to back MVP’s, but didn’t produce as much or as efficiently as LeBron did the last few years.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

I was comparing Rose’s last few seasons to Westbrook E. I am at work and had to take care of somestuff in the middle of responding to your last comment to me.

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

They should just fire the writer of this ridiculous article.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

@nbk…the East was also at a historic low during his 4 year stretch also which helped buff those wins and stats.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

the point is, he is AT WORST the second best player in the league, even if your unimpressed by his abilities. – The Heat will be a title contender, LeBron will be a top 5 MVP candidate, and all this bologna will have been for nothing.

  • T-Money

BC: Your arguments (or lack thereof) for saying that Bron is not a special player are just really, really poor. Seriously, have you ever thought about J-school? Not trying to be mean but… wow. Are you for real with this or it’s just a façade?

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

Well, who likes cold fries, really.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Alot of rose fans seem to have forgotten the main reason why chi was in that boston series, BEN GORDON! Without him, its a 5 game series. Westbook is the 3rd best pg. Many of you have forgotten earlier this yr vs lal. It was russ, not kevin leading the way in that series.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

And for all those harping for rose to be mvp, great stats on a midlevel team dont get u close to mvp, otherwise tmac would have had a couple in orlando.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

I made this statement awhile ago caught wild flak from Z (RIP?) on this site; If I were Lebron’s size, I’d destroy him. Period. If Kobe were my size, he’d probably destroy me. Did Caron not take Lbj back to the Cavs-Wiz wars on the offensive end in that game they just played? Just saying. Co-sign BC and Woj… I’ve heard everyone call Woj everything under the sun so far except a liar. And yeah, 8 years, nothing new. See; Allen Iverson indeed. Who has a different jump-shooting form 8 years ina row? Good Lord.

  • irrelevently relevent

but they lost to the lakers so what the point??? Derek Fisher was guarding him.

  • The D Train

Sorry Tarzan, but that BG comment just ain’t right. I’ve been on this jag before, but if you look up the series stats, BG was the high scorer in all 4 of the Bulls losses, but Rose and Salmons were the high scorers in the 3 wins. All offensive motion ceased once he had the ball, and he was just chucking them up one after the other. There was a play with Kirk spotting up for a wide open three in the corner, where he finally just threw his hands up because BG was in glory-mode. From someone who watched every game of that series, Gordon was in no way, shape, or form the main reason why Chicago was in that series.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Lebron is special. VC was special. AI was special. Dirk (sorry Dark) is special. Joe Johnson is special.

  • Michael

BC, Eboy And Jtaylor yall serioulsy need to grow up, u turn every post on slam into a heat vs bulls fight or a fight about one of the players from those teams, and none of them are rational arguments, your hater goggles have you all so biased its ridiculous. • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Some of the comments about Bron on this thread are just disturbing.
There’s hating and then there’s delusion.

  • T-Money

Spaceship Jay: You can talk about form, I’d rather talk about accuracy – which has greatly improved. Same number as Kobe, Pierce and D-Wade. He’s been shooting 40% from mid range the last 2 seasons. Are you really singling out one game vs Caron Butler as proof of anything? Brandon Rush outplayed D-Wade last week. If you seriously think you would destroy LeBron given his size then I don’t know what else is there to say. I guess Joey Graham should be a superstar then. He holds the bench press record for combines, has a 40-inch vert and is 240 lbs. Really, if you think Bron is overrated and not the best player in the league, we can have a discussion. If you think Bron has no ball skills and everything he does is based purely on athleticism, then you’re a moron.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Mid-level team? 9-6 after a seven game western conference road trip and a crapload of back to backs? Yeah, OK. Sure, they may not be one of the elites yet, though they hung in there pretty well against the Lakers and Celtics, better than any “mid-level team” would, without their second best player, but they ain’t no mid-level team.

  • dako24

Eboy is a girl. Dude stop defending Bron and his diva attitude. Lohan, Hilton, etc. of basketball is all he is.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

So d train, those super clutch shots he hit at end of 4th and ots was just a figment of my imagination? If he doesnt make those, its over. Who made all the big shots when they needed one? Ben gordon. Give the man credit. enigmatic, 9-6 is the definition of mid level. They could finish anywhere from 40-55 wins. Thats to be determined, but so far, bulls are nothing special, middle of the pack, just like miami so far. Im tired of talking about bulls this, miami that, lebron this, cold fries that. Spurs are the best and will be champs.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

These pretzels are making me thirsty.

  • Jackie Moon

    @tealish +1

  • The D Train

A figment of your imagination? No. Unfortunately, the game is made up of more than a few shots. BG shot 39% from the floor and 37% from three that series and didn’t really defend Allen all that well (and that might be putting it mildly). BG did hit a few big shots in that series, but he also gave a few back to Ray, who was absolutely killing the Bulls that series. Ben was a one-dimensional player (still is) who didn’t shoot that well that series. So maybe if he hadn’t shot so poorly earlier in the game he might not have had to make the ridiculous shots in the 4th and/or OT. And maybe if he didn’t shoot 50 times more than Rose for the series (who shot 50%), the Bulls might have scored a few more timely buckets and not needed the glory-hog, circus shots.

  • Feez22

Kobe, Jordan, Favre, Roethlisberger… They are all divas. Why are they not incessantly bashed even after some of their crazy issues? They jar all WON a championship. Unlike my last point I will make this short. It is MUCH EASIER to criticize a persons character when they haven’t won anything. A championship is like a shield. Especially if you are an NFL QB or a multiple finals MVP. sort of like kicking a dog when they are down.

  • Jumpmanjay23

Ya’ll ridiculous. BC, you must be crazy to think there’s nothing special about LBJ. Plain and simple. I don’t gotta explain nothing further than that. I happen to be a Bulls fan as well and the real talk truth is that D. Rose has been great thus far this season. No he aint the best PG in the league (I have D-Will, CP3, and Rondo over Rose with Westbrook close to Rose), but damn dude has put the team on his back this season during a tough Circus Trip. Rose is a rising player in his own right. I agree that the Bulls are still a mid level team. They haven’t done anything yet…but that’s why I watch this game to see where they will go next.

  • Jumpmanjay23

Now, on the topic…LBJ has the damn right not to be served cold fries. Ain’t nobody answer question if they their fries cold. Cause I don’t. If you a “renowned” chef why you serving cold fries? You think when he loses a game fans politely voice their opinions? Hell no.

I dont want to jinx Kevin Durant but he better watch his back; this love affair isnt a marriage just yet.

  • http://idunkonthem.blogspot.com/ albie1kenobi

i can’t believe a SLAM writer on this site actually believes Lebron is nothing special and he’s boring. i understand that one may be unsatisfied about his lack of growth/progression, but does that mean that he was nothing special when he entered the league? if one “focus on basketball skills ONLY. Size is irrelevant and speed and athleticism eventually goes away”, then you clearly must think WNBA is a better league and way more enjoyable to watch.
I’m not even a Lebron fan, and we all have different taste regarding to what we like to watch (i.e. i prefer to watch the 2004 pistons play suffocating D than the 2006 suns 7 second or less offense), but to say he’s not special? like you said, there’s nothing people can say to you to change your mind, it simply just discredit you and your opinion. but i’m sure you don’t give a rat’s ass about that.

I kill kids twice my size and 10 years younger from what’s in my brain; if your good your good, who’s been a former MVP and had this much trouble assimilating to another team? GTFOH. Inform me of a Lebron performance based on intelligence and not Conan-athleticism in 8 years or from being the default everything on a team. I’ll wait.

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

  • http://hibachisabas.blogspot.com/ Toni Kukoc

@Eboy, yeah tough for the writer…guess it compares with Mr.Baltimore aka D.West f**king LBJ’s Momma to the point that there is a chance he is scared for his life going back to play at Cleveland…i am not going to even bother elaborating, cause you know what’s up.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I’ve seen MJ fly all over the place, dunk on people, and score a lot of points. I’ve seen Magic at 6-9 run the floor and drop filthy dimes. I’ve seen Charles Barkley — big and strong like Bron — grab a rebound, run the floor coast-to-coast past the defense and finish. What LBJ is doing now isn’t “new.” I’ve seen it before and like I said, I’m not impressed by him. You know what basketball player REALLY impresses me? Kevin Laue from Manhattan. Look him up. Now he’s the true definition of “special.”

  • Jumpmanjay23

BC:I’ve been spoiled by the 80s and 90s as well, but you gotta recognize that it aint coming back. LBJ is special for this generation. I think the PGs of this generation are more exciting than those of the 90s. I’m curious, who in the L today is special to you?

The so-called “Closer” has no came up short in the clutch in the past 4 gms. He has chucked up two airballs in two games and passed to artest in the other two. TNT called and said they want the name back or else they’ll sue.

  • T-Money

Spaceship Jay: Yes, I’ve played varsity basketball my whole life but that’s besides the point. If you think you have better ball skills than LeBron (which I think you’re implying), you’re either completely delusional or lying. One or the other. Your last question can not be answered because he was the main guy on Cleveland for all these years. And you would need to define what’s a performance based on intelligence and how an elite athlete could show you such intelligence. Hey, Coach K says LeBron has one the highest bball IQ in the league but I’ll take your word on it. // Brad Long: Not Joey Dorsey, Joey Graham. And the point was that if all it took was supreme athleticism Joey Graham would be an all-star (and James White and Gerald Green would actually be in the league). No one ever said that Graham (not Dorsey) was as athletic as LeBron. Look it up, 5:02 pm. // BC: You should let it go. You’re looking kinda stupid. What makes him special is that he flies all over the court , score in bunches AND drop dimes. That combination has not been seen since the Big O, That’s what sets him apart and make him special. This has been said already but you keep looking at individual things he does and say they’ve been done before. It’s the combination that’s special. But you know that, pride just won’t let you quit.
