Do Not Serve LeBron James Cold Fries

He will apparently snap. Or so goes the story from this fun anecdote via Yahoo!‘s weekly slandering of LBJ: “The fundamental problem for Spoelstra isn’t that James doesn’t respect coaches – he doesn’t respect people. Give LeBron this, though: He’s learned to live one way with the television light on, and another with it off. He treats everyone like a servant, because that’s what the system taught him as a teenage prodigy. To James, the coach isn’t there to mold him into the team dynamic. He’s there to serve him. Wade was one of the Team USA players who’d watch incredulously as James would throw a bowl of fries back at a renowned chef and bark, ‘They’re cold!’ Or throw his sweaty practice jersey across the court and command a team administrator to go pick it up. Everyone wants James to grow out of it, but he’s never showed much of an inclination for self-examination and improvement. And he’s never surrounded himself with people who’d push him to do so. What’s more, the timing of this leak was no accident, because James and his business manager had to like the idea of someone else going on trial this week. When the public wanted to talk about James’ return to Cleveland, about the callous way with which he left, about the disjointed start in Miami, they thrust everything onto Spoelstra.”

Ya’ll ridiculous. BC, you must be crazy to think there’s nothing special about LBJ. Plain and simple. I don’t gotta explain nothing further than that. I happen to be a Bulls fan as well and the real talk truth is that D. Rose has been great thus far this season. No he aint the best PG in the league (I have D-Will, CP3, and Rondo over Rose with Westbrook close to Rose), but damn dude has put the team on his back this season during a tough Circus Trip. Rose is a rising player in his own right. I agree that the Bulls are still a mid level team. They haven’t done anything yet…but that’s why I watch this game to see where they will go next.

  • Jumpmanjay23

Now, on the topic…LBJ has the damn right not to be served cold fries. Ain’t nobody answer question if they their fries cold. Cause I don’t. If you a “renowned” chef why you serving cold fries? You think when he loses a game fans politely voice their opinions? Hell no.

  • Jumpmanjay23

Damn my blind anger…I meant to ask if anybody likes to be served cold fries? Cause I don’t.

@Spaceship: NOOO, how could you? How? Lump Dirk Werner into the same category as JJ and VC? The shame, oh the utter shame!

Ir is funny the whole world jumped on Randy Moss for the same type of thing 2 weeks ago, but this happened 2 years ago and we are are only hearing about it now? More anti-Lebron media/less real desire to share the truth is what i see here. I dont like the guy but i found it interesting that people were saving this stuff up. I dont want to jinx Kevin Durant but he better watch his back; this love affair isnt a marriage just yet.

i can’t believe a SLAM writer on this site actually believes Lebron is nothing special and he’s boring. i understand that one may be unsatisfied about his lack of growth/progression, but does that mean that he was nothing special when he entered the league? if one “focus on basketball skills ONLY. Size is irrelevant and speed and athleticism eventually goes away”, then you clearly must think WNBA is a better league and way more enjoyable to watch.
I’m not even a Lebron fan, and we all have different taste regarding to what we like to watch (i.e. i prefer to watch the 2004 pistons play suffocating D than the 2006 suns 7 second or less offense), but to say he’s not special? like you said, there’s nothing people can say to you to change your mind, it simply just discredit you and your opinion. but i’m sure you don’t give a rat’s ass about that.

My bad Dark. @ everyone else; I hear you, but what is the R E A L I T Y of the situation… Re-ality.I respect most of you as Lebron fans, but what you fools are saying isn’t what IS ACTUALLY TAKING PLACE. T-Money; you’ve never played basketball before?. Wait, that was a statement, not a question. I kill kids twice my size and 10 years younger from what’s in my brain; if your good your good, who’s been a former MVP and had this much trouble assimilating to another team? GTFOH. Inform me of a Lebron performance based on intelligence and not Conan-athleticism in 8 years or from being the default everything on a team. I’ll wait.

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

I read this thread and saw everything from someone comparing LeBron’s natural ability to Joey Dorsey’s to comparing his situation with the media to Kevin Durant’s. R.I.P. Slamonline comment section.

  • http://hibachisabas.blogspot.com/ Toni Kukoc

@Eboy, yeah tough for the writer…guess it compares with Mr.Baltimore aka D.West f**king LBJ’s Momma to the point that there is a chance he is scared for his life going back to play at Cleveland…i am not going to even bother elaborating, cause you know what’s up.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I’ve seen MJ fly all over the place, dunk on people, and score a lot of points. I’ve seen Magic at 6-9 run the floor and drop filthy dimes. I’ve seen Charles Barkley — big and strong like Bron — grab a rebound, run the floor coast-to-coast past the defense and finish. What LBJ is doing now isn’t “new.” I’ve seen it before and like I said, I’m not impressed by him. You know what basketball player REALLY impresses me? Kevin Laue from Manhattan. Look him up. Now he’s the true definition of “special.”

  • Jumpmanjay23

BC:I’ve been spoiled by the 80s and 90s as well, but you gotta recognize that it aint coming back. LBJ is special for this generation. I think the PGs of this generation are more exciting than those of the 90s. I’m curious, who in the L today is special to you?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

And by ”special” I mean he drops big brown torpedoes into my hungry mouth. Mmmmmmmmmmmm special

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    @Jumpman: I don’t identify with “this generation.”

  • http://slamonline.com Michael Whyte

@Bryan Crawford. I don’t mean to take a cheap shot at you, but every article I read you have a clear bias in what you say. In fact, you’re quite boring.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

    ^^Thank you, sir.

  • JTaylor21

The so-called “Closer” has no came up short in the clutch in the past 4 gms. He has chucked up two airballs in two games and passed to artest in the other two. TNT called and said they want the name back or else they’ll sue.

  • T-Money

Spaceship Jay: Yes, I’ve played varsity basketball my whole life but that’s besides the point. If you think you have better ball skills than LeBron (which I think you’re implying), you’re either completely delusional or lying. One or the other. Your last question can not be answered because he was the main guy on Cleveland for all these years. And you would need to define what’s a performance based on intelligence and how an elite athlete could show you such intelligence. Hey, Coach K says LeBron has one the highest bball IQ in the league but I’ll take your word on it. // Brad Long: Not Joey Dorsey, Joey Graham. And the point was that if all it took was supreme athleticism Joey Graham would be an all-star (and James White and Gerald Green would actually be in the league). No one ever said that Graham (not Dorsey) was as athletic as LeBron. Look it up, 5:02 pm. // BC: You should let it go. You’re looking kinda stupid. What makes him special is that he flies all over the court , score in bunches AND drop dimes. That combination has not been seen since the Big O, That’s what sets him apart and make him special. This has been said already but you keep looking at individual things he does and say they’ve been done before. It’s the combination that’s special. But you know that, pride just won’t let you quit.

This Crawford guy gave me a headache. He’s the kind of guy who would raise his hand in class to remind the teacher they forgot to assign homework.

  • http://www.slamonline.com ShadiestBen

Jtaylor – A lot of people have been coming up short in the clutch for LA. Kobe is not the problem they wouldn’t of been in the game in Utah if he didn’t score 14 straight. They wouldn’t of been in a position to tie it last night without his assist to Artest then his lay-up.

  • http://www.google.com/news BETCATS

@B. Long – If that comment about Durant was directed at me: how different are the situations KD is in now compared to where Lebron was a couple years ago? You never heard a bad story about Lebron until this summer. We are “learning” about stuff that happened 2-4 years ago on a consistent basis now. Lebron was the media golden boy, now it is Durant’s turn. I dont see what was so wrong in that comment.

BC, Eboy And Jtaylor yall serioulsy need to grow up, u turn every post on slam into a heat vs bulls fight or a fight about one of the players from those teams, and none of them are rational arguments, your hater goggles have you all so biased its ridiculous. Get off your teams nuts its pathetic for real.

Bc if you cannot see lebron is a special player you dont belong here. I dont like him either but the dude is a once in a generation player.

    Well said brother

  • arjae828

    1. Is this story true? 2. Do we really think LeBron is more of a spoiled child prodigy than Kobe? I’m virtually certain Kobe has his primadonna moments. all rich people do. hell, most broke people have ‘em too. you go to a restaurant and your food is cold…you don’t say something? Moreover, what renowned chef serves fries?!…iono about this one.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Man, it’s amazing how people will attack you from all angles if you don’t ride the LBJ groupie train…

  • Lz – Cphfinest3

    Bryan Crawford is not special.

  • bails1

@ Bryan- So you said yourself that you’ve seen Jordan dunk, a 6’9 Magic have amazing vision, and Barkley go coast to coast. So have I but I have not seen a player who does all three of those. I’m not even a Lebron fan but you’re being an idiot.

  • Jay Reyes

@bails1: yeah, Lebron can do all that, but he’s still got issues…

  • aaron

I’d rather not know if a player is a jerk, to be honest. You never know what a writer’s agenda is, for one, and I’d rather stay focused on the games. Sure, team chemistry is a part of it and is fair game, but I could give a fuck about cold fries. Wojo from Yahoo badly wants Lebron to self-destruct or worse. Why does he have such a vested interest in Lebron’s behavior off the court? The fact is is Lebron is fucking awesome at playing basketball. People don’t behave how you want or expect them too, so get over it.

  • OvaChicken

Brain – You have seen everybody do everything while u mostly show up on Bron diss articles. But if Bron told you he’s done , you would have wiped his bottom WITH YOUR TOUNGE & then munched it judgin from your apetite. Bails hit it on the HEAD !! + There has hever been a player with issues apart from Grant Hill , thats why Karma gave him a second chance. Everybody gots issues & i know it’s hard to swallow but yours are MAJOR.

  • OvaChicken

Bron isn’t special. OK. He just works on his game hard as hell that’s why in a funny way he reminds me of sooped up wersions of Karl Malone or L.J. He had to work hard to get his. & is gettin’ it. Stop Hatin coz youl lose anyway.
