Do Not Serve LeBron James Cold Fries

He will apparently snap. Or so goes the story from this fun anecdote via Yahoo!‘s weekly slandering of LBJ: “The fundamental problem for Spoelstra isn’t that James doesn’t respect coaches – he doesn’t respect people. Give LeBron this, though: He’s learned to live one way with the television light on, and another with it off. He treats everyone like a servant, because that’s what the system taught him as a teenage prodigy. To James, the coach isn’t there to mold him into the team dynamic. He’s there to serve him. Wade was one of the Team USA players who’d watch incredulously as James would throw a bowl of fries back at a renowned chef and bark, ‘They’re cold!’ Or throw his sweaty practice jersey across the court and command a team administrator to go pick it up. Everyone wants James to grow out of it, but he’s never showed much of an inclination for self-examination and improvement. And he’s never surrounded himself with people who’d push him to do so. What’s more, the timing of this leak was no accident, because James and his business manager had to like the idea of someone else going on trial this week. When the public wanted to talk about James’ return to Cleveland, about the callous way with which he left, about the disjointed start in Miami, they thrust everything onto Spoelstra.”

^This is coming from the same chap that praises DRose for being the exact same player/athlete as Bron except he’s not as good a scorer, rebounder, passer,
defender, and leader. If you think that bron doesn’t impress you then Rose must be boring the sh*t out of you then. @Enigmatic, I understand where you’re coming from
I love Rose too but he hasn’t shown that he can carry a team past the first round so far, maybe he will this year but that will have to do more with Noah’s emergence and Boozer’s
additions. Remember Rose put up great numbers vs the celts and cavs in the playoffs the last few years but still couldn’t beat either, great players can put up great numbers ala Bron
vs Orl but it still takes a total team effort to win in the playoffs.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

uhm I believe what made/makes LeBron so special is his efficiency and consistency, i mean really he has had the best 4 season stretch of all time. But that doesn’t matter to you guys, the team he just joined 4 months ago is not undefeated. lol all these conclusions being drawn are laughable

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I don’t drink “stat kool-aid” either. It’s amazing that nerds who can’t even ball and have never played competitively in their lives have become the foremost authority on who’s good and who’s not and people swear by their every assessment. And I mean stat nerds, not calling anyone here that.

  • http://google c_cantrell

    wtf

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bryan, to be fair, nobody knows for a fact that you can ball either, so stop with the nerd insults. I’m pretty certain I’d wipe the floor with you on a basketball court, but I’m not 6’6″, 240, so seeing my in person would lend you to believe elsewise. Stop it. Most of my working day is spent bulls*itting around here too, which I guess makes me a cyber nerd of some substance, but you couldn’t speak word one to me on a court. You make that assumption about cats too often. Not just today.

  • the nerve

    f**k lebron

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Just saying.

  • the nerve

ayo crawfid on dat sh!+ again?

  • JTaylor21

All of you guys that claim that Bron doesn’t work hard enough, I have a question; have any of y’all even met the guy let alone been around him when he’s working out? So how
can you sit here and act like you know what he does and doesn’t do. Do you think that bron became 6-8 250+ with blazing speed, amazing athleticsm, great handles, unrivaled court-vision, and a good shooter by just sitting on his a**? If you think so then you must have not worked out a day in your life. What happened to guys like James White and Joey Dorsey who are great athletes but are no where to be found in the L. Don’t speak on something you have no idea about.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

nbk – The best 4 season stretch of all time??!! How may titles did he win during that stretch? That is a ridiculous statement.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

nbk, I was referring to Westbrook’s ability, not the state of the league or the status of particular teams. Westbrook’s ABILITY is beginning to form into his NBA game….it’s pretty solid and slowly becoming spectacular.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

Hey Joey Dorsey started for Toronto the other night!

  • http://djflkf.com Jukai

Sorry I’m a little late, but these could still be slander. Lebron is not going to sue Woj over a lie about fries.
I’m also a bit disapointed in Bryan if he really is a Woj fan.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

ShadiestBen I hope you realize individuals don’t win championships, teams do. The best season(s) ever, can you even tell me what team won the title without using Google? Oscar Robertsons Triple Double Season, Wilt Chamberlains 50PPG year, or Michaels 37 8 8 season, who won the title those years off the top of your head? exactly

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Eboy, we’re cool and all, but I’d bust your a$$ on the court with no hesitation whatsoever…believe that. You’d be light work. And since you missed what I was saying, by “nerd” I mean all of the advanced stat guys out there that people swear by nowadays. If you didn’t play or don’t play and all you do is crunch numbers, I can’t respect that.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

I’m a huge Woj fan. Why? Because like Myles said, nobody’s called him a liar yet. Nobody’s written anything refuting any of his columns on LBJ. That tells me there’s truth to it. I like truth.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

I’m gonna go with Boston for Wilts as they won them all around that time, Detroit when Jordan had that and ill say LA when Robertson got the trib dub? Thats a guess though.
Still its a ridiculous statement. You didn’t say statistically one of the best stretches of all time, you just said the best of all time. Ridiculous.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Bryan, I feel the same way. You’d be another victim. That’s how I look at cats like you. You know I love you too.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Or if my old memory is serving me poorly, you were the guy that claimed zone defense was the end all be all to defensive schemes and that you would drive all day for buckets. You better get an all-around game, wannabe Bron.!

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I’m gonna start calling you Bron Crawford.

  • http://twitter.com/ShadiestBen ShadiestBen

As impressive as winning multiple MVPS is, both Steve Nash and TD have done it in recent history.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

Your old memory is serving you poorly. I hate zone. I would shoot all day over the top of a zone and drive all day for buckets in man…especially with you guarding me.

  • http://slamonline.com Bryan Crawford

BTW, did Bron Bron sign that nude pic that you say that you have of him, “To Eboy, With Love”? Just curious…

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

    Allright statman…….Bron Crawford….My MAN!!!!!!

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

eboy, so your saying that what Derrick Rose has done the last 2 seasons is less then spectacular. He literally has never played with another top tier player, and has led Chicago to the playoffs every year and took the defending champs at the time (albeit without their best player) to a thrilling 5overtime 7 game series. IMO there is no way to say Russel Westbrook is better then Derrick Rose. unless you judge basketball ability purely off of athletic ability, and potential.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

I wasnt talking about Rose either, nbk.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

ShadiestBen its called efficiency productivity and winning. LeBron efficiently produced more wins then anyone else over the last 4 years. And he did it with numbers that have never been matched over a similar stretch of time except Oscar, but he did not have the same type of team success. And if you haven’t noticed a season is 82 games plus the playoffs, not just the playoffs. And once again, its individual production not team production, and if your MVP statement was too me, then you forgot Larry Bird, he went back to back to back MVP’s, but didn’t produce as much or as efficiently as LeBron did the last few years.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

I was comparing Rose’s last few seasons to Westbrook E. I am at work and had to take care of somestuff in the middle of responding to your last comment to me.

  • http://brimartin13@gmail.com Brion

They should just fire the writer of this ridiculous article.

  • http://slamonline.com Kap

@nbk…the East was also at a historic low during his 4 year stretch also which helped buff those wins and stats.

  • http://slamonline.com nbk

the point is, he is AT WORST the second best player in the league, even if your unimpressed by his abilities. – The Heat will be a title contender, LeBron will be a top 5 MVP candidate, and all this bologna will have been for nothing.

  • T-Money

BC: Your arguments (or lack thereof) for saying that Bron is not a special player are just really, really poor. Seriously, have you ever thought about J-school? Not trying to be mean but… wow. Are you for real with this or it’s just a façade?

  • http://slamonline.com tealish

Well, who likes cold fries, really.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Alot of rose fans seem to have forgotten the main reason why chi was in that boston series, BEN GORDON! Without him, its a 5 game series. Westbook is the 3rd best pg. Many of you have forgotten earlier this yr vs lal. It was russ, not kevin leading the way in that series.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

And for all those harping for rose to be mvp, great stats on a midlevel team dont get u close to mvp, otherwise tmac would have had a couple in orlando.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

I made this statement awhile ago caught wild flak from Z (RIP?) on this site; If I were Lebron’s size, I’d destroy him. Period. If Kobe were my size, he’d probably destroy me. Did Caron not take Lbj back to the Cavs-Wiz wars on the offensive end in that game they just played? Just saying. Co-sign BC and Woj… I’ve heard everyone call Woj everything under the sun so far except a liar. And yeah, 8 years, nothing new. See; Allen Iverson indeed. Who has a different jump-shooting form 8 years ina row? Good Lord.

  • irrelevently relevent

but they lost to the lakers so what the point??? Derek Fisher was guarding him.

  • The D Train

Sorry Tarzan, but that BG comment just ain’t right. I’ve been on this jag before, but if you look up the series stats, BG was the high scorer in all 4 of the Bulls losses, but Rose and Salmons were the high scorers in the 3 wins. All offensive motion ceased once he had the ball, and he was just chucking them up one after the other. There was a play with Kirk spotting up for a wide open three in the corner, where he finally just threw his hands up because BG was in glory-mode. From someone who watched every game of that series, Gordon was in no way, shape, or form the main reason why Chicago was in that series.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Lebron is special. VC was special. AI was special. Dirk (sorry Dark) is special. Joe Johnson is special.

  • Michael

BC, Eboy And Jtaylor yall serioulsy need to grow up, u turn every post on slam into a heat vs bulls fight or a fight about one of the players from those teams, and none of them are rational arguments, your hater goggles have you all so biased its ridiculous. Get off your teams nuts its pathetic for real.

  • Michael

Bc if you cannot see lebron is a special player you dont belong here. I dont like him either but the dude is a once in a generation player.

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Some of the comments about Bron on this thread are just disturbing.
There’s hating and then there’s delusion.

  • T-Money

Spaceship Jay: You can talk about form, I’d rather talk about accuracy – which has greatly improved. Same number as Kobe, Pierce and D-Wade. He’s been shooting 40% from mid range the last 2 seasons. Are you really singling out one game vs Caron Butler as proof of anything? Brandon Rush outplayed D-Wade last week. If you seriously think you would destroy LeBron given his size then I don’t know what else is there to say. I guess Joey Graham should be a superstar then. He holds the bench press record for combines, has a 40-inch vert and is 240 lbs. Really, if you think Bron is overrated and not the best player in the league, we can have a discussion. If you think Bron has no ball skills and everything he does is based purely on athleticism, then you’re a moron.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Mid-level team? 9-6 after a seven game western conference road trip and a crapload of back to backs? Yeah, OK. Sure, they may not be one of the elites yet, though they hung in there pretty well against the Lakers and Celtics, better than any “mid-level team” would, without their second best player, but they ain’t no mid-level team.

  • dako24

Eboy is a girl. Dude stop defending Bron and his diva attitude. Lohan, Hilton, etc. of basketball is all he is.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

So d train, those super clutch shots he hit at end of 4th and ots was just a figment of my imagination? If he doesnt make those, its over. Who made all the big shots when they needed one? Ben gordon. Give the man credit. enigmatic, 9-6 is the definition of mid level. They could finish anywhere from 40-55 wins. Thats to be determined, but so far, bulls are nothing special, middle of the pack, just like miami so far. Im tired of talking about bulls this, miami that, lebron this, cold fries that. Spurs are the best and will be champs.

  • http://www.twitter.com/TheDiesel Anton

These pretzels are making me thirsty.

  • Jackie Moon

    @tealish +1

  • The D Train

A figment of your imagination? No. Unfortunately, the game is made up of more than a few shots. BG shot 39% from the floor and 37% from three that series and didn’t really defend Allen all that well (and that might be putting it mildly). BG did hit a few big shots in that series, but he also gave a few back to Ray, who was absolutely killing the Bulls that series. Ben was a one-dimensional player (still is) who didn’t shoot that well that series. So maybe if he hadn’t shot so poorly earlier in the game he might not have had to make the ridiculous shots in the 4th and/or OT. And maybe if he didn’t shoot 50 times more than Rose for the series (who shot 50%), the Bulls might have scored a few more timely buckets and not needed the glory-hog, circus shots.

  • Feez22

Kobe, Jordan, Favre, Roethlisberger… They are all divas. Why are they not incessantly bashed even after some of their crazy issues? They jar all WON a championship. Unlike my last point I will make this short. It is MUCH EASIER to criticize a persons character when they haven’t won anything. A championship is like a shield. Especially if you are an NFL QB or a multiple finals MVP. sort of like kicking a dog when they are down.
