Jerry Sloan, Jazz Close to Signing Extension

Sloan doesn’t have a ring (and may never get one), but with 23 fantastic seasons (and counting!) on his resume, he’ll go down as one of the best NBA coaches of all time: “Jerry Sloan is close to signing a contract extension as coach of the Jazz, he told NBA.com Friday in a predictable development but important signal of his continued passion for the job at age 68. ‘It’s pretty much done, as far as that’s concerned,’ he said before the Jazz played the Warriors at Oracle Arena.”

You can’t think of the Jazz without thinking of Jerry Sloan. Dude will be calling out pick and roll plays from beyond the grave.

I think Sloan should take his talents to South Beach.

Way to aim for “the middle” Sloan… J/k he is one of the greatest coaches of all time, and I really respect that he stuck with just the 1 team all these years..

Why not just go ahead and give dude a lifetime contract already…

Awesome, now the Jazz can continue to excel in the regular season and make absolutely zero adjustments in the post-season and thus never win a ring for another four or five years.
Sloan is really, really good at yelling at his players and getting them to execute the simplest offensive set in basketball – that makes him great? Get out of here.
