Kevin Love: ‘We’re Way, Way Better Than This’

Following their two spankings in Florida, somehow, Kevin still holds out hope for his sorry team (much in the same way, in fact, that he’ll chase you to the ends of the Earth for a dap.) From the Star Tribune: “The Magic won 128-86, the worst loss in Wolves’ history by one point. Orlando led by 35 points in the second quarter and scored 78 by halftime against an opponent that now is longer, more athletic, shoots better — and was supposed to be more competitive — than last season’s 15-victory team. For those of you who wiped all of that season from your memories, those 78 first-half points allowed is not a franchise record: Phoenix scored 79 in the first half last March. The Wolves flew home late Wednesday night from an 0-3 road trip in which they trailed by 20 points in the first quarter Saturday in Memphis, by 16 at halftime Tuesday in Miami and by 19 in the first quarter Wednesday. ‘I couldn’t have said this with 100 percent honesty last year: We’re way better than this,’ Wolves forward Kevin Love said. ‘We know we are. We’re way, way better than this. It’s heartfelt and upsetting to see where we’re at right now.’ Right now, they’re 1-4, injury-riddled and in the midst of a brutal part of their schedule that stretches into December.”
