Knee Injury Sidelines Jermaine O’Neal Indefinitely

Jermaine‘s rusty knee will keep him out of action for a yet-to-be determined amount of time. WEEI reports: “The Celtics don’t know how long Jermaine O’Neal will be out with his knee injury, but it will be measured in weeks, not days. ‘Two, three weeks would be a guestimate,’ Doc Rivers said Monday. ‘We don’t know exactly. We’re going through a couple of more evaluations.’ O’Neal sought a second opinion in Miami on his injured left knee and didn’t travel with the team to Memphis for the last game on their road trip. Rivers said he hasn’t ‘heard the word ’surgery,’ yet, but there’s still no real timetable on O’Neal’s return.”

Is it too late for Boston to get Rasheed Wallace back and let Jermaine O’Neal go?

  • Jose

Cmon now guuyz we all knew this was gonna happen. Both Shaq and J.O do have thier tendenceies to get injured…separately they don’t look like much, thats why we should just combine both O’Neals stats together as one person. then you’ll see the contributions..lol

Sheed was injured too, you know. But yeah they need a big guy to man up and rebound.

The international player (I forget his name) has been playing well coming off the bench. I don’t think Boston will miss Jermaine, though I do wish that Sheed would come back.

The rare player who career highlight was also his low light.
    Wasted talent.

^ Definitely not wasted. He was great in Indiana. A player can’t control when his body will give out. Can’t help but feel bad for the guy; get well soon big fella.

Its all part of the bigger picture, JO rest up and heal while Celtics educate and mentor the NEW kid on the block. Sheed was nice to have if he only knew how to serve his purposed, which was to bang down low and stop taking them DEEP jumpers. Celtics aint worry about getting in the POST SEASON. C’s main concern is to have healthy guys when that season starts you digggg.

    @ All Day
Semi Erden is the guy you’re thinking of and yeah, he’s been pretty good. He’ll be able to develop for a while with Jermaine healing. The C’s have plenty of depth at the center position so there’s no need to rush anyone back.
