Polladaday: Most Vital Return?

Crucial injuries caused many teams to start the season without a key player or two. Who needs to get back on the court ASAP?

    Kap, you must be drinking the same Bynum kool-aid Jim Buss is drinking. The truth is, you take Pau Gasol away, and bring back Bynum, the Lakers are lucky if they even get to the Western Conference Finals, let alone the Finals.

    Without Gasol on floor last year, Bynum avg about 20 points and over 10 rebounds. The year he missed the playoffs was the only year the Lakers lost in finals without Gasol. With Bynum before Gasol arrived, the Lakers were the #1 seed in the West. So there is lots of evidence to how important he is to the team.

    You’re smoking crack then because when Bynum is healthy (which is rare) he is a top 5 center offensively and defensively. Plus he’s only 23.

    I don’t smoke crack, but I do know Bynum is more hype than substance, due to the fact he’s coddled by the Lakers franchise. Put Bynum on the Grizzlies and bring Marc Gasol over to the Lakers, and we are talking about how vital Marc Gasol’s return is for the Lakers. That’s the truth, Kap, and apparently you can’t handle it.

    Lol…thanks for clearing up that you don’t smoke crack. I still believe Bynum is a top five center when healthy though. Alot of people don’t get to see him that often because he’s hurt but when healthy you can see that he’s a special player.

    I see Bynum is heavily underrated here. I’d rank him as the 4th or 5th best Laker but his presence shifts Gasol to the 4 (where he’s more comfortable), and Odom out of the starting line-up (so he can ball against second units).
    James Jones’ hot shooting has lessened the immediate need for Miller’s return, Boozer’s return upgrades his team to just 2nd round fodder and Boston’s depth gives Bynum’s impact the edge over Perk.

    Considering Shaq and JO are both hurt for the Celtics, Perkins is really being missed right now. They don’t have a big man. And looking at last year’s Finals, if the Celtics had a healthy Perkins they might have won it. Same will go for this season.

    bynum.. by far.. the only contenders on the list is LAL, Mia and Bos.. the return of Miller just adds a little depth.. but sharing the time will reduce the value of the guys stepping up in his absense (a push).. return of Perk gets them out the east.. the return of bynum.. (almost) guarantees a 3peat..

    on another note.. bynum is a top 5 center.. of course when healthy.. a healthy drew is more offensively polished as the ‘best center in the league’.. and defensively.. he alters shots.. how else do you think pau gets all those weak side boards throughout the playoffs..

    Bynum is barely top 10 center. Oden is top 5 when healthy(never) walton would have been best ever if he wasnt always hurt. Joking……… ….. .. .Bynum is possibly most overrated player in the league. Of course he helps lals chance at a title. But put ghostface, marc, gortat, perkins, chandler, haywood, etc on the lakers and its the same.
