Will Dwight Howard Sign Extension With Orlando?

According to the Sentinel, Dwight may not be so quick to sign his name on the dotted line next summer: “Dwight Howard wants to stay in Orlando, but those closest to him say that signing a contract extension this summer with the Magic isn’t a gimme. Not ‘automatic’ I’m told. Magic CEO Bob Vander Weide told me he wouldn’t be surprised if Howard waits to make a decision, largely because of the uncertainty of the labor situation possibly affecting salary structures. But there’s certainly more behind Howard’s thinking: He might well make his mind up whether to accept an extension based on how the Magic fare through the playoffs this season … He has another season left on his contract after this one before he can become a free agent. He has a player option at $19.2 million for 2012-13 if he desires. Howard wants to remain with the Magic. But he wants to win a title even more.”

If I’m Dwight, I keep my options open. It’s a good business decision.

i can only imagine his one-hour special on ESPN “I decided to take my post-game to Southbeach”

Of course he will start ‘this crap’. 2 years after their surprise Finals appearance, they haven’t gotten better at all. They’re still soft around him and they don’t have anybody who can break down the defense. Turk was a terrible fit in T.O but he provided Orl with something unique.

Watch Dwight Howard disappear from Orlando in a year. It’s Magic!

Call me a dumb@ss i dont care but why do people considor Magic an elite team they live by the three against teams that dont make the playoffs and die by the three against teams that are considered elite.

co sign ENDS.. I think Orlando is one of the “cooler” NBA cities (not that I’ve seen em’ all).. He seems happy there, but probably a good idea to keep his options open..

Magic need to unload some of their Sam Cassell-ugly contracts (Lewis, Gortat, Redick, Duhon)

  • Groves

Please Sign Man.. but force the magic to try and get you CP3 and Melo (only if Melo is going to leave denver no matter what)

  • flipnoycef

I could see him pulling another SHAQ move, going to a bigger City! Come on Dwight, can you try to be ORIGINAL. Did you know what SHAQ did after he couldn’t pull it off with the MAGIC, he went to the LAkers. I hope not!

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Should Dwight disappear, at least the Magic can pull the Polish Hammer out of their “hat.” Ha ha ha!
