Yao Ming on Houston’s Problems: ‘Everything’

For Yao, there are plenty of issues for his winless Rockets. In fact, nothing seems to be working in Houston. From the Chronicle: “The frustration was evident with every barely audible word. Yao Ming had gone through his postgame work out, but it had done little to soothe his dissatisfaction with the Rockets’ 0-3 start. Losses, as always, had prompted the examination of shortcomings. Yao made the Rockets’ problems clear. ‘Everything … You cannot say one or the other is making this team down right now,’ Yao said. ‘I think we have a lot of problems still. Defense. Offense. Everything.’”

Bet you could use a little fourt qurter scoring!! Where Carl Landry shines and Kevin Martin withers away and hides..

It’s early. Oct/Nov is like an extended training camp.

*fourth quarter..Martin’s perimeter d or lack thereof could be an issue also, it was in Sac. Meanwhile, Landry has been beasting for the 2-1 (on the road) Kings.. That trade is not looking so hot. Tell me again about how Morey is such a genius when the Kings are contending for a playoff seed

    Houston, you have a problem.

It’s cause they need to count on you for more than 24 mpg!

Houston have played 3 tough games, Lakers home opener, Warriors home opener (without Yao)and Denver at home who had just come off a tough loss to the Hornets, and Al Harrington hit everything he threw up that wasn’t a lay-up. I think they’ll get a rhythm going and work it out.

3 gms in, no need to panic. Gotta give it at least 20

the kings are contending for a playoff seed 3 games in? Seriously? Even still, i’m pretty sure that would have more to do with them sucking for so long that they were able to collect good and high picks.

@ walt williams: The Kings are 2-1 after beating the Wolves and Cavs and losing to the Nets. Contending for a playoff spot after 3 games? Don’t get ahead yourself bruh…

And defense is most definitely an issue, but it’s still early and their best player only plays half the game (and none when it counts the most). They’ll be fine…

I’m one of the biggest Carl Landry fans out there, but the trade for Kevin Martin was needed–not because Landry wasn’t doing his thing, but because the Rockets desperately needed a star shooting guard after T-Mac left. I’d say the trade is/will be working out for both teams.

Co-sign Teddy…There was NO Rockets fan that was happy with Carl Landry being dealt. Having said that, I like what we got in return.

Teddy – didn’t need a star guard. Just one who could knock down open shots to space the floor. Landry had massive value, but worked really poorly with Yao inside. His height and lack of passing ability meant he was the odd man out, despite his hustle & scoring.
Besides – you’re not gonna build a team around Landry if it’s him vs Yao.

Way to remove the focus from yourself, Yao.

@teddy Houston’s perimeter D is just terrible. Shane’s too old out there now and Kevin has never played D a day in his life
