Amar’e Surprised by Free Agent Attention Chris Bosh Received

STAT was slightly taken aback by how much more coveted Bosh was over the summer. The NY Post, of course, makes it out to be as though Amar’e dissed Chris: “Amar’e Stoudemire has never understood why Chris Bosh came into July’s free agency rated as the top power forward available. Even Knicks scouts had Bosh rated higher, possibly because of Stoudemire’s health concerns and his contract not being insurable because of past microfracture surgery. ‘I was a little surprised by that,’ Stoudemire said after practice Thursday on the eve of the Heat-Knicks showdown at the Garden. ‘I’ve been in a winning situation my whole career. It’s been somewhat opposite for him. But he’s playing well this year. He’s been playing well his whole career. We go back to high school. I don’t compare myself to Chris at all.’”

    I agree Ben and NBK. He’s better than Andrea at getting to the rim and defense, but that ain’t exactly hard to do.
    Man, Andrea is so soft. It’s sickening how soft he plays. He needs to go to the Dirk School of Toughness. For real. Dirk used to be soft. He’s still finesse, but he ain’t soft anymore.

    Never a STAT fan, or a Bosh fan but right now, it’s silly to rate Chris over Amare. But then again, no one saw Bosh limp coming…what’s going on there…

    The injury history, the uninsurable knees and poor (No One Ever Taught Me) defense definitely would make you think about Amare twice. He’s a very good inside/out scorer and rebounder, but giving him 100mil is a pretty big risk. Bosh might not be as talented, but he is younger, healthier and cheaper.

    I’ve been hearing ALOT about Bosh playing for “the other team” too. And I don’t mean the Heat. What’s really good with that? Is that why everyone is calling him Rupaul, The meat in-between the two slices of bread and Chris Kross??? And i’m a Knick fan to the heart, but I say the Heat are gonna whup our ass. We got no defense…

    Man, idk. That’s what my peeps been telling me for a while, and they ain’t Bosh haters. That’s just what I hear. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I could care less, but IAMORANGEFOREVER called dunny, RuPaul. Thought that was a reference to that rumor.

    Bosh has a lot of potential, while it’s the same with Stoudemire, he never played with a player like Steve Nash. We didn’t know if Amare without Steve would have work and Bosh’s production was almost garanteed.

    I have been saying for a long time that Amare is better than Bosh. I would have taken Amare over Bosh last year and years before. Amare is finally the first option, Bosh is now the 4th option. So of course Bosh needs more shots, but I would take Amare. BOOK IT!!

    Amar’e is a chump who likes to talk way too much and his team is going to get crushed in the first round of the playoffs again this year. Chris Bosh will be better next year.

    this was pretty misleading.

    Stoudemire played his whole career with the top passer in the nba that made things wayy more easier for him on offense. Finishing off the pick and roll was sumthing he learned to master and was a massive part of his offense. Now he is recieveing attention as the guy with the ball in his hands all the time…and he has come up big. However, Bosh hasnt played with a big name star at all until this point in his career, which is why his numbers are impressive. He averaged 24 ppg 10 boards last year and has a more versatile offensive game than stoudemire.

    Oh and for the record STAT and Bosh are very similiar players. Neither play great defense, however I give the edge to Bosh. Both of them lack a real post game, however Bosh is slowly developing a back to the basket game. And they like to attack the basket/shoot midrange jumpshots/jab step to the drive.

    Bosh is a better all around jump shooter, and Amare can attack the basket better, however Bosh can finish with either hand on the drive better than stoudemire and slightly more range with his jumper.

    Surprised no one mentioned the real reason every GM had Chris Bosh over Amare. It was simple every GM knew that if they signed Chris Bosh LeBron James would follow. He wanted to play with Bosh more than Wade in the end since he likes being paired with a big man.

    Also there is the Injury issue Bosh so far has avoided serious injuries in his career Amare hasn’t. They also really had the same knocks against them both can score real well for PF’s but both don’t really play Def. (Amare has played a bit more physical def this year, though Bosh has been playing some good fastbreak defense with pass deflections and steals during the win streak.) There’s also age while Amare is young he’s got more miles on his legs being a straight from Highschool guy.

    Amare lets get real, Steve Nash is the reason your team was winning. If you were the first options, the raptors would have a better record with their bad rosters.
