Andray Blatche on the Trading Block?

According to the WaPo, the Wizards are looking into the possibility of shopping their talented yet maligned big fella: “The Wizards have already made one huge trade this season, sending former face of the franchise Gilbert Arenas to Orlando in exchange for Rashard Lewis. But they might not be done dealing. According to two Western Conference executives, the Wizards are gauging interest in Andray Blatche to determine if trading the skilled 6-foot-11 forward is best for the organization moving forward. Blatche leads the Wizards in scoring (16.8 points) and is second in rebounding (7.9). The trade deadline is Feb. 24 … Blatche signed a three-year extension before training camp that will pay him $28 million between now and the 2014-15 season. He broke his foot last summer and arrived in camp carrying some extra weight because of his limited mobility while rehabbing.”

From a DC resident, good riddance Dre. Bad attitude, trouble prone and not mentally tough enough to lead the Wiz to a turnaround

Blatche has been as consistent as any play the Wiz have had in recent years. It would be interesting to find out who is interested in him. I’m going to assume that every team will make an inquiry into dealing for him. The west is pretty stacked in the power forward department.

I wonder if this guy would be an upgrade to Hakim Warrick?

  • Clement

Blatche would be an all-star caliber player if his head was screwed on straight. Unfortunately, he’s just not that bright. Kid was ballin last year after Jamison left. Now he’s back to being an enigma.

@clement: good point. he is really skilled, but the IQ (on and off the court) is just not there. He prefers taking a contested jumper over driving to the hoop and he is constantly causing problems for the organization aka fight with McGee and that time he refused to come off the bench last year

Who would trade for this guy? I dont label many players cancers but he is one I would apply that to.

@BETCATS – Garnett could probably give you a whole list of cancers…
