Death in Carmelo Anthony’s Family Halts Trade Talks

As ‘Melo mourns his sister, the Nuggets will temporarily stop shopping his services around the League. From the NY Post: “Carmelo Anthony has been granted a leave of absence from the Nuggets following the de  Nuggets following the death of his sister, Michelle. The Nuggets reported the tragedy on their website last night. Anthony left the team to be with his family and will return after Christmas. All talks regarding a trade for the superstar have been put on hold while Anthony deals with the loss of his sibling, who died of a pre-existing medical condition Tuesday in Baltimore. She had four children. The Nets have been very positive, very confident in their ability to trade for the star and have been willing to expand the parameters of a deal to include additional teams, additional players and additional salaries.”

That is very sad. I cant even imagine losing a sister so young. Good on him for taking a leave to be with the family and the nephews and nieces. Life is much more than basketball…I know it is hard to believe but it is true. All my heart goes out to the Anthony family.

not saying you guys should feel obligated to or nothing like that, but it would be very classy of your site to post a link somewhere to the best place possible for fans to send their condolences to the Anthony family. I’m sure there must be a carmelo fan site or something along those lines that his family wishes to have all of the condolences posted to.
