Game Notes: Heat at Rockets
Agent D3 to the rescue.
Original starting lineups for both teams take the floor. Arroyo starts things off with a short J. 62-61 Rockets.
Lowry dumps in a three ball and Martin is “Mr. Me Too” with a trifecta of his own. Rockets up 68-61.
Bosh stops the bleeding by stepping to the FT line and draining both. Rockets up 68-65.
Chuck Hayes has 11 points so far. Yeah, Chuck Hayes.
Scola makes another nice move under the basket to put his team up 72-67.
Martin gets Arroyo to bite for three-point foul attempt but only hits two. 74-67 Rockets.
LeBron with the breakaway slam to close the gap to four.
Martin with the pump fake and J. 80-74 Rockets with 5:25 left to play.
Wade pumps in two. He has 26 points already.
Hayes to the line for two. Hits both. 82-78 rockets with 3:14 left.
James puts up two points. He has 16 now.
Two minute warming.
Jones for three and Big Z gets the And-one. Heat up 88-84 at the end of the third.
Wade stretches lead to 90-85 with 11:23 left.
Brooks to the rack, but the layup rims out. Hits two freebies. 90-87 Heat.
Bosh hits a two and he has a sneaky 19 points tonight.
Wade gets fouled hard on a fastbreak dunk attempt by Brooks and lies on the floor for quite a while. Is he OK?
Wade gets up finally and hits the technical FT. Heat ball. 94-89 with 9:58 left.
Wade on the line. Hits one 97-89 Heat.
Miller for three. 97-92 Heat with 8:54 left.

Chalmers nails a J from behind the arc. Heat up 108-99 with 4:57 left.
James for two he has 18 now 110-101 with 4:25. Adelman calls TO to talk it over with troops
Heat streak of holding opponents to under 100 is over now at 16-straight games.
Martin with the and one on LBJ, his third. 110-103 Heat with 4:05 left.
8-second violation by James bringing ball up court, Rockets ball.
Wade with the and one again. He looks like he goin’ for “fiddy” tonight y’all. You don’t piss off Wade and get away with it. Heat up 115-105 with 2:51 left.
James at the line and hits both freebies. He has a quiet 20 points. Budinger drains a three and Lowry back doors with another long J from deep. Heat up 117-112 with 1:27 left to play.
Wade gets the whistle for the charging foul and Rockets get another chance to close the gap and K Mart capitalizes with 55 seconds left. 117-114 Heat.
Joel Anthony gets to the FT line and ices both. 119-114 Heat with with 34 ticks on the clock.
Brooks misses a wide-open three ball and Anthony drains two more FTs. Brooks redeems himself with a quick layup and it’s 121-116 with 19 seconds remaining.
Lowry hits a beautiful J from behind the arc and closes the lead to four with 14 seconds left.
But Wade steps to the FT line and is ice water with both. He has 45 points on the night.
James rebounds the ball after a Houston desperation shot and the buzzer sounds. Heat win 125-119 to continue their win streak at four and ends Rockets’ streak at five.
Once Wade tasted his own blood, he went from Bruce Banner to the Hulk on the hardwood. Most players are taken out of their game when mad, but Wade flourishes when mad. If I was Coach Spo, I’d keep D. Wade “green.” LeBron didn’t go off tonight but he flirted with a triple double with 20 points, 9 assists and 6 rebounds. Chris Bosh continues to play well, finishing with 21 points, but with only 4 boards, his presence inside is nowhere near dominant.
The Rockets’ Aaron Brooks was a huge spark off the bench with 20 points. As he works his way back from an early season injury, look for him to return to last year’s Most Improved Player form. Luis Scola paced Houston with 22 points and Martin added 21. Despite taking the L, the Rockets actually had a chance to win this one. With Yao out, no one expects them to go anywhere, so a showing like tonight has to be good for their mental state.
At 25-9, Miami has the second best record in the Eastern Conference and the fourth best record in the L. They are starting to figure things out and that goes a long way to making people forget how much they “hate” the Heat.
