Jonny Flynn Headed Down to D-League

The D-League is the new hotness, it seems, as Flynn becomes the latest NBAer to make his way there. The Star Tribune reports: “Minnesota point guard Jonny Flynn plans to report to the Timberwolves’ development league affiliate in Sioux Falls, S.D., for a game on Friday as he works his way back from hip surgery. Flynn has yet to play in a game this season. He had surgery on his left hip in July and has gradually started ramping up his workouts over the past few weeks.”

Two top 5 picks used on PGs in a single draft and none of them are playing for them right now. I feel for Wolves fans.

@ least the Wolves have DARKO!!!!!

@ The people above me: It’s basically a rehab assignment, not an indication of his play…

If they can re-do that draft I bet they pick up Russell Westbrook. 38pts. 15rebs. 9assists. Does he know the Thunder belongs to Kevin Durant? Hahahaha.

    ^ WRONG draft year.

  • Drew

@Enigmatic – You’re right, thanks for pointing that out. I’m mixing 2008 and 2009 draft classes together there.

I still don’t get how playing in the D-League, rather than practicing 100% with the team can possibly prepare you to adjust to the line-up better??

I know Jonny Flynn will bounce back and have success this year with the Timberwolves.
