Polladaday: MVP?

At this point, regardless of who your pick for ’10-11′s Most Valuable Player thus far is, one thing isn’t debatable: that the MVP race is wide open. If the season ended today, who do you think deserves the award?

Who's the NBA's MVP thus far?

Chris Paul, or LeBron James. The thing with the mvp race this season is that its so open that the favourite changes every week.

  • jessdogg

    ummm lebron maybe?

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

Thus far I vote for Amar’e…POW!

  • http://www.twitter.com/AllBall247 AllBall247

Right now I would give it to CP3 or Bron. It changes week to week depending on how guys/teams play. Its that wide open this year.

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

Surprised that Rondo didn’t make the list.

  • http://thekobebeef.wordpress.com LDR4

Surprised that Rondo didn’t make the list.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Adam Figman

Added a couple names. Agreed about this being wide open, though. Could make a half-decent case for most of those on this list.

right now, its dirks….. everyone who voted for amare needs to come back to earth. yes, hes played very well, but check the mavs record.

  • bashmo

    C….p……….3!!

  • http://slamonline.com The Black Rick Kamla

I can’t call it…I wanna say Amar’e but its madd early

  • Rainman

Dirk Nowitzki has been the MVP of the Year so far.

    smh @ ppl saying bron.

Amare is second to me, Dwight 3rd.

Manu def deserves a lot of credit tho

  • http://Www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Amare is winning this poll? How many times you vote, Orange? Anyways, My vote would go to LeBron James. That dude has had to play in some of the most hostile environments I’ve ever seen any NBA player play in, and he just continues to dominate. Dirk is second on my list, and then I have Manu.

  • DeeDre

@ Tarzan – check the Mavs roster. Jason Kidd runnin the point with Terry as a great 6th man, Caron Butler is a nice piece with Shawn Marion backing him up, If you took Amare from Newyork and Dirk from the Mavericks, I think its safe to say that the Mavericks are better.

  • hoodsnake

Dirk has been on that squad and LeBron is playing with 2 Alpha Dogs but is only 30 games in…so Dirk it is.

  • jessdogg

All the “Other” votes were Bron’s… his name only just got added..

  • nobrain

20pts of manu = 30 pts of others.

  • http://psp2423@yahoo.com Eboy

WERES KOBE BRYANT HE HAS MY VOTE LOL. WERE IS THE LOVE FOR D-WILL CMON IT’S BETWEEN,D-WILL,STAT,OR DIRK.

  • http://www.google.com/news BETCATS

    Durant didnt make the list?

  • Andrew

To have lebron on the list but not wade just makes me want to vomit.

  • dannyb

@DeeDre – you can make the opposite argument too. Mavs have a lot of depth but Dirk is still putting up amazing numbers even with all those options. Amare’s putting up great numbers because he has to.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Everyone knows mvp goes to best player on one of the top 2 or 3 teams. …. Looks like in the end it will be dirk vs bron.

  • http://www.twitter.com/HurstySYD Hursty

    MANU!

  • http://bleacherreport.com/articles/408237-bryant-vs-jordan-theres-still-no-debate-jordan-is-king nbk

That’s how you know there are a plethora of Knick Fans/ People so delusional they can’t see things that are completely obvious. Amar’e is playing no better then he did in phoenix, sorry…and the knicks aren’t even going to get homecourt in the playoffs…..when ever has an MVP not had homecourt in the 1st round?

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

@Enigmatic: I’ve voted just a couple times to see what the poll results are thus far, and it appears the PEOPLE ARE CHOOSING AMAR’E…POW! I hope you had a Merry Christmas outside of your Bulls getting sliced and diced by my Knicks.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

“Just a couple of times”, eh? You do realize after you vote once, the results show up whenever you go back to the page right?
And my Christmas was aight. Woulda been better if Rose had punched your boy in the face when he got in his grill. POW! Wouldn’t have mattered, we lost the game anyways.
Hope yours was aight too. We’ll see y’all again on April 12th.

  • Kadavour

Manu is the best player on the best team. Bring him off the bench, put him in the starting line-up. Give him the last shot, or depend on him for a defensive stop on the last position. He’s doing it all this season. GINOBLIII!!!

  • http://bleacherreport.com/articles/408237-bryant-vs-jordan-theres-still-no-debate-jordan-is-king nbk

The Spurs are not going to keep this up all season. They are beating terrible teams. And they aren’t doing it very convincingly, consistently yes, convincingly no

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

@Enigmatic – if you clear you internet history each time you shut down, then you have to vote to see the results. Thus far, I’m very impressed by the high basketball IQ fans’ SLAM has voting in this MVP poll. lol

  • http://bleacherreport.com/articles/408237-bryant-vs-jordan-theres-still-no-debate-jordan-is-king nbk

what’a waste of a poll. Can’t put Lakers or Knicks on any of them, people are too biased/stupid

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

@IAMORANGE4EVER – and why would you need you clear your history each time? What other sites besides Slam are you visiting? Lol.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

Wow nbk, Amare is playing no better than he did in Phoenix? Right… Well, LeBron James is playing no better than he did in Cleveland, let’s get him off this poll too.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

Well Teddy, if LeBron is playing no better than he did in Cleveland, than LeBron more than deserves to be in this poll…since he did win back-to-back MVPs in Cleveland.

  • http://thetroyblog.com Teddy-the-Bear

    =(

  • http://twitter.com/BeezKneezy LA Huey

What happened to Durant? Wasn’t he supposed to be the new MVP?

  • http://Slamonline.com Nbk

He’s just shooting more shots. Take a look

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    @Enigmatic: Touche! lol

  • Kemba

Durant??!?? The guy carries his team night in night out.

  • http://www.twitter.com/AllBall247 AllBall247

Chris Paul should be on this list. Over the last 20 games Bron has been MVP. Over the season it’s been CP3, his team would be no where without him. I would of said Dirk but he went down last night in the 2nd quarter, and the Mavs showed that their a pretty good team even without him.

  • add

stoudemires doin real well but dirk is leading the mavs in the west, which is a lot harder than leading a team in the east

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Nbk, spurs are 26-4. And u say theyre just beating terrible teams. Thats just incorrect. ………. Meanwhile, the lakers are losing to terrible teams.

  • derek

No Dwight Howard??? the guy who’s had 20 rebound games, is a better scorer than last year, is the leader of the Orlando magic. He is having a great year and is easily a top-3 candiate for MVP

  • http://Slam Jasmine

Im A Huge LeBron James Fan And I Wont Actully Hate Him Wherever He Goes Ill Respect His Decsion Just Like I Did But To Tell You The Truth Im Suprised Kevin Durant Wasnt Up There!!!! I Would Love To See Bron Be A 3 Time MVP It Can Totally Happen Its Just Harder For Him To Get It At Miami He Cant Make As Much As Points As He Did Before ,But Hes Still On The Top Of The Leagues Most Scorer And Has 31 Triple Doubles And Is So Young He Is The Best Right Now In The NBA So I Would Love To See Him Get MVP Once Agian!

  • http://Slam Bron Bron

Its Amazing How Bron Has Played He Is The Best In The NBA And Should Be MVP By Far Second Would Be Rose Or Durant.

  • http://Www.bulls.com Enigmatic

What’s amazing is that this is still the polladaday…polladaweek?
