Knicks to Hire Former Nuggets GM

The Knicks‘ latest hire may be their most direct indication this season of their interest in Carmelo Anthony (a move, by the way, he praised.) From Yahoo!: “In a move that undoubtedly has roots in the pursuit of Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks president Donnie Walsh has reached an agreement with former Denver Nuggets general manager Mark Warkentien to join the Knicks as a high-level consultant. The hiring of Warkentien is expected to be a prelude to a larger and more specific front-office role in the future, but that’s still an issue to be worked out. As the Knicks work to acquire Anthony through a trade this season or in free agency this summer, there’s no minimizing Warkentien’s institutional knowledge of the Nuggets organization and ownership, as well as a strong relationship with Anthony.”

Come on Melo, let’s sign that contract with the Knicks this summer! Watch out Heatfans next season, ’cause there’s gonna be a new King in town! Finally, at last, the Knickerbockers are contenders again!

Nene and Martin are nice but not as nice as stat and raymond felton is coming into his prime. Billups just getting old. Plus gallo’s still 22 and showing he can step up. Jr smith is streaky . I like carmelo on the knicks. They instantly become a team that can beat anybody. But I still would give the edge to miami untill they get a center and more depth. They can beat them though. Don’t know about a series yet or boston.
