Patrick Patterson Leaves Game, Taken to Hospital

The AJC has more on the scary but hopefully not too serious news: “Houston rookie Patrick Patterson was taken to Piedmont Hospital during the Rockets’ 112-106 victory over Atlanta because of chest pain and congestion. Coach Rick Adelman had no update on Patterson’s condition as he spoke to reporters after the game. Team spokesman Bob Schranz said Patterson left in an ambulance before the start of the third quarter. Schranz added that Patterson, the NBA’s No. 14 overall draft pick, was experiencing flulike symptoms before the game. According to Schranz, the medical staff at Philips Arena sent Patterson to the hospital because it was thought he needed to undergo more tests.”
