Polladaday: All-Star Love?

Kevin Love has been a straight-up beast this season, averaging around 21 and 15 and dominating the paint on a nightly basis. Unfortunately, his team hasn’t won much, so his ASG chances aren’t guaranteed. Do you think he should be selected?

Should Kevin Love make the All-Star Game?

No question. Who cares what team he’s on? When’s the last time someone had this many 20-20 games in a year and didn’t make it?

Go get them 5 guys Ryan.

  • Omar

I am actually one of those. I say he only makes it because he can play center and there are no centers out west, there’s at least 6 forwards who should go before him.

    6? who?

  • Omar

KD, Dirk, Melo, Pau, Blake, and Duncan cause the Spurs are probably sending 3 guys. Lamarcus and Rudy Gay are having strong seasons. Personally, I think all of those guys should go ahead of Love but the first six, no question.

You really think Carmelo should go ahead of Love? Please.

Love has better #’s than Dirk and Duncan cmon son really?

Duncan puttin up like 13 and 8. just because Ginobili, Parker, and the 3-point bombers are having one helluva season does not mean Duncan is a shoe in for the ASG. The other 5 i would tend to agree with

The NBA, where stats don’t matter. If Kevin Love is an All Star at C, then yes, but he isn’t making a forward spot in the west.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCC NO!. For the longest time, it hasnt mattered how good a players stats are, if the team is crap, hes not an all star. Zbo put up 25 10, didnt make it. Same year, memo did like 18 8, made it. …….. Were gonna change the long time standard for this guy? (its cuz hes white). …… And he doesntt dominate the paint, he goes for boards at the expense of everything else. … Dwight dominates the paint. Shaq, kg, tim used to dominate the paint. ….. Love is a good player, and I like his game, esp that he has long range on his jumper, but dude is overhyped, and a selfish stat stuffing looter in a riot. ……….. Who else even goes for boards in sota? Darko? Please. You know hes told his teammates to let him get all boards possible, just like bron used to do. Remember in ny, when ben bobbled a board at the end of the game so bron could get his 50pt trip? Shameless

Tarzan that was the dumbest comment in the history of SLAMonline

Team success is more valuable criteria in determining the MVP of the season but for All-Star selections; if your getting numbers as ridiculous as Kevin Love is; it’s a no-brainer.
@Tarxan; such a non-sensical comment; rebounding is THE key stat in the game that will always help your team. You control the rebounds, you control the game.

  • Omar

@ MichaelNZ Why wouldn’t Melo go over Love? I must have missed something there. I love how I listed 8 guys and you picked Melo out of the air.

@NBK The coaches love all 3 of those guys. I think they’ll all be selected. Coaches could give a damn about stats and rightfully so.

@Oinestep I hope you’re not saying because Love has better numbers than those guys that he’s better than them or deserves to go over them. And he doesn’t have better numbers than Dirk.

Nicholas and Tarzan are right. That is all.

If Kevin Love doesn’t make it as an all-star, Blake Griffin shouldn’t as well. Two players on losing teams.

Kevin is having a monster year! I don’t think he should start but i think he should be an all star this year. he leads the league in double doubles. many people have made the all star game with less than stellar stats. so he should be invited.

Again, basketball, and the NBA in particular, is a sport where stats are often over-hyped, over-analyzed and ultimately deceiving. Open gym and your picking teams, you got Dirk, Melo, Duncan, KD, and Love to choose from, who is going to be sitting on the sidelines with next? Not me, Dirk, Timmy, Melo or Durantula, that’s for sure.

  • Morgan

Nicolas I think in that situation you are sitting on the bench waiting for next and Love takes your spot. Even if your the guy picking – your riding pine.

  • karley

you know who should make it. lamarcus aldrige
