Polladaday: Monta Ellis an All-Star?

The Warriors are making a push to get their SG Monta Ellis into the ASG this February. With the abundance of quality guards in the West—Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams, Manu Ginobili, Russell Westbrook, etc.—do you think Monta should be selected?

Does Monta Ellis deserve to make the All-Star team?

I think he is an All-Star, but that doesn’t mean he will get selected. The West has a wealth of great guards, most of whom are playing well on better teams than the Warriors.

  • Yann Blavec

    Nope. Tony Pärker instead.

He is one of the most talented scorers and very entertaining to watch. Sounds like all star material to me.

kobe, dwill, cp3, tony parker, manu.. those guards off the top of my head are more deserving before monte.. or am i crazy?

He does, but there are too many others who deserve it more.

Someone on a bad team has to put up numbers so I’m not buying the logic that he should make it bc of his numbers. CJ Watson put up nice numbers in GS now like how he is faring in Chicago.

Nope. Too many superior guards ahead of him. Besides, Steph is better anyway.

1 of the most underated guards in the leage. 25 a game!!! comr on. he is better than toney parker,a better shooter, more athletic and just a better player

The results of this poll show why fan voting should be discontinued. Would you guys really want Monta over Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, or even Steve Nash?

Deron Williams Chris Paul Kobe Manu and Monta Ellis…..

    Works for me.

The only reason The Dubs don’t have a winning record is because of injuries… and he doesn’t have a fellow player like Pau Gasol Tim Duncan David West, or Kevin Durant like the other guards do

Mad love for Monta Ellis… always doing his thing

Caboose YES i wanna see Monta Ellis in an ALL STAR GAME over Steve Nash. Who wants to watch Steve Nash in an All Star game?? lets be honest the only ASG weekend moment I can remember him for is the soccer tricks in that dunk contest w/ Amar’e. Monta Ellis is EXCITEMENT and as @BossTerry mentions there is enough space on the squad for him

Sorry BossTerry but I’ll take Russ over Monta any day.

I hear that Ca-Boosie…. Im a Warriors fan and I just want to see Monta in the All Star Game… I believe he deserves it

Dude is averaging 25+ points 5+ assists and 2+ steals…. Only D-Rose, LeBron, D-will, and Westbrook are the others doing that!!! Put my man Monta in the All Star Game!!

Yo monta ellis leads the entire western conference in scoring. He’s put up more 40 point games than anyone in the league too. How can you not include him on the all star team? Dude shoots 47% so hes not just shootin 30 shots a game either. Also averages 5+ assists and 2+ steals, second only to chris paul. Cmon its an easy decision.

He isn’t going to make just like last year, because the Warriors don’t have a winning record. Russell Westbrook has pretty much the same stats as Monta, but he will be more considered because he is on a winning team. All I know is David Lee made it last year on a losing team, and Kevin Love and Blake Griffin I think are shoe-ins. Not many people have seen Monta play, and he is way more exciting to watch than Nash, even Ginobili and Parker. He is underrated by NBA fans, so it is up to the coaches to make him a reserve. Unfortunately, if he was leading the league in ppg, he still wouldn’t be a front runner. Let’s go Warriors! Win some games and get ya boy in the all-star game.
