Report: Knicks Will Soon Trade Randolph For Pick

ESPN‘s Chris Broussard is reporting that Anthony Randolph will be traded in the next couple weeks for a first-round pick, with the Pacers, TWolves and Blazers being the most likely destinations: “The New York Knicks will trade Anthony Randolph for a first-round draft pick within the next two weeks, according to league sources. Minnesota, Indiana and Portland are among the likeliest destinations. The Knicks’ ideal scenario is to use the first-round pick they acquire for Randolph in a package for Denver’s Carmelo Anthony. But the Randolph trade is not completely related to New York’s pursuit of Anthony.”

What has ever done outside of a summer league game that gives anyone the idea he is worth a first round pick?

  • tavoris

BETCATS-the biggest problem with him is that he needs to dominate the ball to be effective. Otherwise, he’s basically Turkoglu in Phoenix

FOr those teams hes worth it. THey don’t [not really] need gaurds and talented bigs arer hard to come by soo this is good move on both ends.

Anthony Randolph has Lamar Odom type potential. He just needs the right situation. A place he can grow his game with a young team. I think Minnesota is a perfect landing spot for him.

they`d sayin this for the last 3 months and yet no 1st round pick yet

Anthony Randolph doesn’t have that great a skill set to be compared to someone like Lamar.

Why woukd minnesota be interested he can’t play the 5 abd last tine I checked they have the love machine at the 4. I think indy woukd be the best spot imo they need a 4 desperately

Interesting that teams are still willing to give up a number one pick for this guy even though he hasn’t worked out in the two most face-paced offenses in the league.

if it’s not completely related to the persuit of melo, on the knicks side, then what is it about?

they want to clear space, get a tradeable pick and open up another roster spot by getting rid of a little used forward who plays a similar role to melo (scoring). so it seems to be entirely for that purpose, or if melo doesn’t come it allows them to get a good young rookie and then maybe, if possible sign melo in free agency

Please tell me the Knicks are keeping Wilson Chandler if/when they trade for Melo. Don’t do him dirty like that, Knicks..

Anyone else find it funny that the Warriors always draft for potential (Randolph, Udoh, Brandon Wright, Patrick O’Bryant) yet their free agent pick ups (Azubuike, Reggie Williams, Anthony Morrow, Anthony Toliver) all seem to do better? (Just ignore Stephen Curry for the sake of this argument).

Indiana would be the best fit in my opinion. Minny would be a disaster.

Though Nets maybe? They are losing Favors in the Melo deal most likely, why not get Randolph for the 4.

  • Lazarus

not another knick rumour and weren’t they all over randolphs D start of this season? what happened with that? other than a couple minor injuries?

  • Michael

I hope the Pacers make this happen..We could really use an athlete like Randolph at the 4 spot.
