Ron Artest Really, Really Loves In-N-Out Burgers

Artest jokingly (I think) tells the media in LA that he’s only playing in that town because of the awesome selection of hamburgers. The Times reports: “On Monday, the league retracted the technical fouls assessed to Ron Artest and Clippers forward Blake Griffin in the final seconds of Sunday’s 99-92 Clippers victory. Last week, it was Andrew Bynum and his infamous ‘Are you serious?’ set of technical fouls, one of which was erased by the NBA the following day. Artest was apparently hungry to get back the $4,000 he would have forfeited had his ejection not been overturned. ‘I could’ve bought 10,000 In-N-Out Burgers,’ he said. ‘I rather would’ve done that than give it away. I’m going to get 10 burgers [after Monday's game]. I love In-N-Out. It’s addicting. It’s the only reason I’m here in L.A. If it wasn’t for In-N-Out Burger, I probably would’ve gone to Memphis or something.’”

    Bynum: Are you serious???

ESPN had some analysis on the players with the highest body mass index…or fattest if we’re not being politically correct. And suprisingly Artest was 4th or 5th behind Shaq, Big Baby, and ZBo.

lemme get a 2×4 with some animal fries yo!

  • http://www.boogiewillaims.com Boing Dynasty

@Deez, Body mass index only factors height & weight, and muscle weights twice as much as fat. Its not an accurate measure of how fat someone is, that why they have body fat % stats too. Big Baby has more fat in his neck than Ron does total. (NHJIC)

A few times in my life, I’ve met people who didn’t love In N Out. I don’t talk to those people anymore.

  • Pugz

@Diesel yeah thats not politically correct to say fattest because big baby is definitely much fatter than ron as Boing Dynasty said, and there are plenty of guys who have a higher body fat % than ron does in the league, don’t be ignorant, its just funny that ron is damn crazy and loves in-n-out. haters everywehre

  • spit hot fiyah

Boing is correct, BMI does not factor in body fat %

  • Flight

@Diesel Measuring BMI only takes into account a person’s height and weight. Nothing to do with body fat at all. That’s why BMI is deceiving, makes really muscular guys have a high body mass index. Have you seen Artest on Kimmel with his shirt off? Or him on muscle fitness? I wouldn’t doubt if Artest has less than 10% body fat on him.

Approved. And I have the t-shirt.

  • http://www.boogiewillaims.com Boing Dynasty

it pains me that one of my best friends doesn’t think In-N-Out is all that and 4 bags of potato chips. i pray for him every night that he’ll turn around.

  • robb

@ Kap “It’s the only reason I’m here in L.A. If it wasn’t for In-N-Out Burger, I probably would’ve gone to Memphis or something.”

  • vtrobot

@ Kap: I think it’s in Vegas now too. They only open up new franchises that are close enough to their trucking routes because they don’t freeze anything so that it stays fressssh. Burgerville in Oregon is as good as In-N-Out, tho.

    damn…I feel pretty stupid now.

BMI is pointless….you can do that on a grade school calculator. Just goes to show what type of journalism ESPN is into

Ive had in n out 5 orr so times, and its good but not as great as many say it is. Can anyone who loves it tell me whats so special about it?? I think its just plain. Chef burger ftw

  • http://www.twitter.com/flavaklav Klav

are any of you Lakers fans from LA? In n Out is in California, Vegas (been there for a minute), and also Arizona. I’ve been to the OG one in East LA by my cousins house. and vtronot Burgerville doesn’t even come close. Five Guys is better than Burgerville.

    *vtrobot…my bad

  • http://slamonline BossTerry

Burgerville has the BEST fastfood burgers. (Only available in WA,ORE, and ID)

  • dma

BossTerry is right on. I had In and Out once while working in Salt Lake City and it wasn’t that good. Granted it was Utah, but still i was not impressed

  • retrobat

Geez, all you InNout guys are ridiculous. I remember coming to CA and everyone was hyping up how great InNout was..blah, blah, FANTASTIC, AMAZING, SUPER-AWESOME-WONDERFULLY-YUM-YUM-BLAH-BLAH-CRAP! For the record, their burgers are OK. Their fries are not very good. I think all the CA natives have been brainwashed since birth to believe that INO is the best. It is not. Deal with this fact people.

  • STAYWEIRD38

hah i work at a five guys it kinda reminds me of a poor man version of in and out . no hidden menu tho … or is there ;o!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com/online/blogs/farmer-jones/ Ryan Jones

In N Out has locations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. If given a choice, you should only live in one of those states.

  • http://www.need4sheed.com Tarzan Cooper

Its not that good. Just a fast food fried burger, nothn special at all. …… CHEF BURGER is vastly superior… ……. Hey ryan, u get a chipotle around your way yet?

  • BE.water

Johnny Rockets > In N Out.

  • datkid

stop it….in n out kicks johnny rockets ass any day of the week. you know they don’t even have microwaves at johnny rockets? IMO the only thing that even comes close to in n out is red robin

  • http://slamonline.com biged

i live on the east coast so F* in N out…but if and when I go to Cali. I’ll b sure to try it. I used to work at Five Guys, our burgers meats are never frozen and we cut the potatoes for fries in the store…and everybody was crazy about there food, but to me it was just regular. But it’s definitely an upgrade from McDonald.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I’ve hit up In N Out twice.
Once when I was visiting my cousins in Whittier, CA back in high school.
Once when I was on leave right after graduating from Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego.
The first time I thought it was the sh*t. The second time I thought I was gonna die cause I hadn’t had anything anywhere near as greasy as that the previous 13 weeks.
Hmmm…might be time to go back a third time for a tie-breaker.
