Tyrus Thomas to Miss 6-8 Weeks With Knee Injury

Thomas woke up from what must have been the worst nap in NBA history. Because his left knee was all messed up after. The Charlotte Observer reports: “Tyrus Thomas was fine in morning shootaround, then woke up from a pregame nap with a swollen left knee that proved to be a torn meniscus. He’s out up to eight weeks after a magnetic resonance imaging confirmed the lateral tear. I asked general manager Rod Higgins if (with Gana Diop also out) they needed to sign a replacement big man. Higgins said that isn’t an option because they have the maximum 15 players under contract. That seemingly means some unconventional lineups since they’re now shorthanded at power forward. You’ll see Eduardo Najera play more, Gerald Wallace and Dominic McGuire playing some power forward, and possibly centers Kwame Brown and Nazr Mohammed playing together.”
