Haslem tells the local press what every Heat fan was hoping to hear, that his return to action could be sooner than initially thought. From the Herald: “Forward Udonis Haslem, sidelined since sustaining a foot injury Nov. 20, said Tuesday that doctors have told him he should be able to return by late March or April ‘if everything goes as planned.’ Said Haslem: ‘That’s what we’re shooting for.’ Then, he added wryly, ‘If I can pull of a Mike Miller, then maybe a month earlier.’ Haslem finally got off crutches on Monday and now has his left foot in a walking boot, which will come off in six weeks. ‘I think I’m a little ahead of schedule,’ he said. ‘It looks good. I don’t have much pain, but I’m not 100 percent weight bearing. It’s huge to go from crutches’ to a boot.”
