Allen, Durant, Pierce Headline Three-Point Contest

The NBA just announced the Three-Point Contest field, and the airways are buzzing already. There’s both returning contestants and newcomers. Two Celtics highlight the former, while Kevin Durant highlights the latter. From the NBA: “Reigning champion Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics will defend his title in this year’s Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, at Staples Center in Los Angeles as part of NBA All-Star Saturday Night. Rounding out the field are All-Stars Ray Allen of the Celtics and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Daniel Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, James Jones of the Miami Heat, and Dorell Wright of the Golden State Warriors. Allen won the contest in 2001.”

Ray Allen hands down, the dude is one of the greatest shooters of all time, and is on fire this year. They should bring back Reggie Miller for a showdown.

If only the people dragging in the dunk contest participants could get it this correct we’d be onto something.

@nicolas, i was basically thinking the same thing. i think he’ll panic seeing the clock wind down and he’ll release it a little sooner than he would normally do.

Steph Curry has to be in it, that’s just nuts. I think KD will win it.
