Byron Scott: ‘I’m the Right Man for the Job’

Scott tells the press that he’s the right guy to lead the never-ending trainwreck in Cleveland. Whatever you say, coach. The Akron Beacon Journal reports: “They have lost 26 games in a row and 36 of their last 37, they were a punchline this week in Jay Leno’s opening monologue and they are one loss away from setting the longest losing streak in the history of American professional sports. But first-year coach Byron Scott’s job is safe. ‘Byron has the complete and total support of myself and our entire organization,’ Cavs general manager Chris Grant said on Thursday. That was evident in Scott, who said he wasn’t one bit concerned over his job security. ‘I just have a lot of confidence in what I do,’ he said. ‘I know I’m the right man for the job.’ The Cavs have lost 26 games in a row, tied with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the longest losing streak in professional sports history.”

    Red Klotz is sitting around thinking, “Hell, I’ve been doing Byron Scott’s job for years.” I’m getting as many Washington Generals jokes in that I can while this losing streak continues.

    Please, please, please fire Byron Scott…so that the Knicks can fire D’Antoni and hire him.

    Byron Scott says he’s the right man for the job of setting the record for most consecutive losses in sports history, can’t argue that. So why is everyone questioning his ability. Good job, Byron, you’re the right loser for the job.

    He should have waited for the Laker spot smh

    Seriously though, Scott had them playing well before injuries struck key players and Lebron stomped on their hearts in Cleveland.

    Enough said! His record doesn’t say otherwise.

    Byron Scott can coach, really really coach. You just can’t cook with cold grease. (Yes I took that from Darryl Dawkins).

    @tRay I completely agree! Lakers 4 Life!!!

    This isn’t fair for Byron, these players just don’t know how to win. Lebron was the team, he won the games for everyone, the Cavs had the best record last year because of him, Mike Brown was coach of the year because of him, and Mo ‘No show’ Williams was an All Star, all thanks to Lebron, and I don’t like him AT ALL, but no one can deny he is the player who has the biggest impact on a team, that’s unquestionable, and that’s his biggest fault, he’s so good he makes his teammates lazy, he makes it too easy for them, when he’s not around and they gotta play, they just disappear.

    If your team loses 26 in a row then you are not the right one.
    Even with his roster you should at least get one win out of 26 games.

    He turns players off.
    Like, quickly, too.
    Besides, Kidd put the “word” out on him a long time ago. Just like Garnett to Saunders.
