Celtics Send Kendrick Perkins to Thunder For Jeff Green

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to break the news:

Nate Robinson was also sent to OKC as part of the trade.

I don’t understand this move either as a Celtic die hard! But, I understand they needed a sf badly for quite some time and Green is a definite upgrade for Daniels. The way I’m looking at this is the C’s were the #1 team in the east without Perk and the Oneal’s playing the center spot. They might have had given some toughness inside but they improve on their offensive end! Now picture this as a line up with Rondo taking a breather- pg-Allen,sg- Pierce, sf- Green, pf- KG, c-Krstic or when the Oneal’s are healthy. I’m gonna be optimistic about this. The C’s are still a deadly team and they’ve proven time and time again in the last few year that they don’t go down less than 7 games in the post season!!! Believe that, we still gunnin for that numero uno spot!!!

Kristic and Green could at least shoot a mid range. Nazr and Perk cant. Teams are going to be able to pressure KD and Russ more without having to honor the mid range game of their bigs. (i guess ibaka can hit a shot from time to time, but i’d rather he shoot than Kevin or Russell)

THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER TRADE COMING..WHO IS GOING TO PROTECT THE PAINT AND INTIMIDATE GUYS WHO DARE TRAVEL DOWN THE LANE? JAMES WILL GROW A BIGGER PAIR AND WADE WILL TRY TO SOAR…BOSH WILL SLEEP BETTER AT NIGHT. LOL. WE’LL BE OK BUT I’M STILL BAFFLED..I HAVE TO TRUST AINGE ON THIS ONE.

Since the last championship that Boston won, they have been looking for a lineup similar to the one when James Posey was there. Jeff Green fits that bill.
I was asked yesterday about Green’s defense. He is not Bruce Bowen. But he can guard multiple positions, as we all know. He will be the focal point of the second unit. He can even start on this unit depending on match ups, but… He was a starter on a team that is among the better teams in The League.
Perkins in all reality, was slow, and he clogged areas of the floor on offense and defense. Frequently putting the ball on the floor while in scoring position. Frequent foul trouble. Durability is an issue as well. Now, Boston can open up the floor more easily.
Kristic will spread the floor. Kristic also has heart. (not saying Perkins doesn’t) He will not get a bunch of technicals. He is healthier than Shaq, Jermaine O’Neal, and Perkins.
In my opinion, The Celtics made the deal of the year.

How are they retarded enough to trade the second best post defender, and their biggest spark of the bench for a critically undersized power forward, that will never amount to anything but shooting threes. Doesn’t defend at all. And, KRSTIC?! REALLY BOSTON? Just shellshocked right now. Carzy trade.
    Worst deal of the year.

Once again the Philosopher “philosophies” and make Celtics-nation breathe easier. lol. I’m neither too low or too high on this trade. I really liked Hulk and the toughness he brought to the table. I’m always open to change so we will see what happens.

Serge is prolly going to play the 4… Perk and Nazr splitting time at the 5… Scott Brooks is going to coach the guys up and the Thunder are now built to compete for a Championship… KEVIN DURANT – 6 rings in the future 7MVPs to come, and the scoring title every year until he turns 32… So to every team in the NBA, when you see the Thunder comin…….. BOW DOWN!

    ^glovechops..
i appreciate your enthusiasm as a thunder fan but lets try to be realistic here bud..
*compete for the chip? hell yeah
6 rings? i guess its possible.. not likely, but possible..
7mvps? dude im the biggest thunder fan on this site but i gotta tell ya that as much as love the thunder and as much as i love kds game, there is no way in hell he is winning 7 mvps.. do you realize that that would be an nba record? not even kareem could pull off 7 (tho he arguably should have)..
win every scoring title til he is 32? this is actually possible, but there will be plenty of players to give him a run for his money in the years to come.. that said, from one okc fan to another, have a great day dude!
