Chris Bosh to Raptors Fans: ‘Bring it On’

Bosh is ready for the vitriol in Toronto tonight, and though he’d like to be welcomed in a friendly manner, he knows there’s no way that’ll happen. The Star reports: “Despite the disparate records of the two teams — the Heat are 40-15, the Raptors 15-40 — the atmosphere could be electric at the Air Canada Centre for what’s expected to be only the fourth sellout in 28 home games this season. According to the website seatgeek.com, which tracks the sale of tickets for sporting events, the average resale price is topping $200 — about double the usual and higher than for any game this season. Fans — those who continue to boo Vince Carter more than six years after he left and Tracy McGrady almost a decade after his departure — are sure to be in full throat. ‘I’m ready as I’ll ever be,’ Bosh said. ‘We’ve experienced some times here from the crowds and pretty much it’s at every arena we play at. Guys are extra motivated, crowds are extra motivated, whether it be to talk crap or cheer a little louder, but I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. Bring it on.’ Bosh continues to assert he has nothing but good feelings about the city and the team that gave him his start in the NBA and put him in a position to flourish. ‘I spent my first seven seasons there, tons of ups and downs, made a lot of relationships with friends and different people around the city,’ he said. ‘I had so much fun there, I don’t regret anything I ever did there. It’s like the mark of the beginning of my manhood, so to speak.’”

Y A W N… okay Chris, thankx for playing. I mean I guess he had to say something when the question was put to him right.

It’s a lot easier to demand that Toronto “brings it on” when you have LeBron and Wade in your corner.

“Brr, it’s cold in here, there must be some Toros in the atmosphere,” Bosh did not necessarily add.

  • burnt_chicken

“i lack razor wit and comedic timing” Fleming did not necessarily add. Nor did he need to.

  • Flight

It’s gonna be funny when a guy like Amir Johnson locks up Chris Bosh tonight.

  • http://www.redraidersports.com Nicolas Fleming

    Aww, someone is upset.

  • Charles

Hey Rupaul, manhood is probably not the right word…

  • Red Star

Look at Bosh trying to make something out of nothing! We don’t care that he’s gone! Yes we were better with him but it’s not like he was going to win us a championship anyways! We stunk when he was on our team and we stink now! Your not LeBron!!!

The fans shouldn’t be booing their franchises leader in points and rebounds. He knew he wasn’t a number 1 option kind of player so he decided to move on to greener (or sandier) pastures. I’m Canadian and he’s still one of my favorite players. Love his game

    Canadian basketball fans are funny.

  • Riggs

pretty sure you did it to yourself chris. Have fun not watching any of your favorite shows on tv tonight.

    what does that mean Eboy?

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

It means that there’s such a passionate loyalty to a mediocre to poor team since their inception and then when all the best players in the franchise’s history leave for greener pastures, they try to insult them as if they had no bearing on the miniscule success they’ve experienced. It’s comical.

lebron returns to cleveland: millions of people around the world tune in. bosh returns to toronto: 5 people outside the country of Canada tune in.

I said boo Bryan Colangelo and that mediocre coach instead of the star that left the city except 4 Vinsanity. but no lie, we have some crazy fan base here

Eboy can suck rope… And all i hope for today is for Bosh to cry

  • http://www.slamonline.com Eboy

Meloman, don’t you root for the biggest b*tch in the league.

  • Mike

Bosh is no VC. VC would dominate these games against the raps with 40 points games and 3-point game winners at the buzzer. Ahhhh, the good ol’ days.

  • bashmo

Damn so many Bosh haters. Lets get one thing straight, If CB4 had not experiened that facial injury in that crucial final stretch of games last season, the Raptors would’ve likely made the playoffs. They were terrible without him during the time. And I know Amir Johnson is a solid energy and hustle player and can have great defensive nights, but to say he will lock down Bosh, that’s disrespect. Bosh did his thing up there in Toronto, Colangelo is a bad, overpaying GM, one of the worst in the league in my opinion and he couldn’t provide Bosh with enough defensive pieces throughout his tenure up there. That’s what prevented them from making playoffs last season…oh and Turkoglu of course.

whats up with these TMZ headlines SLAM???? we are all grown men over here, dang!

  • Flight

@Eboy Passionate loyalty to a team that is labeled mediocre (very generous by the way) is something I can only take as a compliment.

Is it logical to boo bosh when he comes back? No, probably not. But the fact that the fans in Toronto do get so into a regular season game is a positive in my perspective.

  • andre anglais

The jack-assery of Raptors fans pales in comparison to the sheer upp-ended-tom-foolerery bassackwardness of Leaf fans. Those crazies are the real botches. Raptors fans are sane in comparison

  • LA Huey

I’ll be watching. I hope Bosh makes a statement.

  • http://nicekicks.com Meloman2.0

no i dont root for bosh -_- thats YOU

  • http://slamonline.com SWIFTboy

Did I mention I don’t think Raps fans should boo Chris Bosh?
Even if you had a good reason to be mad at him, and didn’t come off as a jealous ex-gf who got dumped for a hotter girl, booing isn’t going to do anything.

Don’t like Bosh one bit, but the Raps are crazy if they think they have anyone that can guard him.

  • Bruno

it’s not slam fault man, it’s players caring about damn things and not just stick to his games

  • http://slamonline.com Allenp

Chris Bosh rubs a lot of people the wrong way for some reason.

And I wonder why Allenp. He has been a real pro in TDot for 7 years and respect to VC but Bosh leads the franchise in points and rebounds. He should get the same treatment KG got the 1st game back in Minnesota.

  • http://nobulljive.com/ Enigmatic

KG and Bosh situations were very different.
KG absolutely loved playing in ‘Sota and felt like he had exhausted every avenue he could in trying to win a championship there. He said all the right things regarding his time playing for the T-Wolves and the fans know he was sincere and he gave all he had for all those years.
Bosh was pretty much dead-set on signing wherever Wade signed, and I’m not fully convinced Bosh, Wade and James didn’t all plan to sign together sometime last season.
I don’t care what he says, he didn’t like playing in Toronto.
Even afterward, he had every opportunity to tell the fans he wished it could’ve done more in Toronto, he loved his time playing there, he wishes them well, etc.
But instead he chose to go the “Toronto cable sucks”, “I was just playing with their emotions”, “it’s good to finally be on tv more” route.

  • http://slamonline.com Yknot

You tell them Rupaul! Like Durant said you’re not even that type of player so why try so hard now. Where was this chip on your shoulder when you were in Toronto?

  • http://www.boogiewillaims.com Boing Dynasty

KG brought his team to the WCF, Bosh won 2 playoff games in 7 years.
