Hawks, Mavs, Blazers Looking at Devin Harris

There’s a good chance Devin Harris will be playing for a new team by this Thursday’s trade deadline; determining his new address, however, is not so easy: Dallas, Portland, and Atlanta are all reportedly interested. From the AJC: “It seems Hawks GM Rick Sund has cast a wide net in the team’s search for a bona fide point guard. In addition to Cleveland’s Ramon Sessions, the Hawks also have inquired about New Jersey’s Devin Harris. Those discussions could pick up now that Harris won’t be going to Denver as part of a deal for ‘Melo, who was traded to the Knicks. Harris, who turns 27 28 on Sunday, would meet Atlanta’s desire for a capable defender who also can push the pace and create shots for others. But he makes $9.3 million in 2011-12, and adding his salary to the roughly $65 million Atlanta has committed for next season would push Atlanta’s payroll above the current luxury-tax threshold (which could change in the new CBA). Harris also is owed $8.5 million in 2012-13.”

I think he’d be nice back in Dallas……but who would leave? The Jet or Barrea and other parts?

Chap is dirt , mavs don’t need his game in the slightest

Is Dallas looking to bring back all of their old guards. Who’s next, Jimmy Jackson?

    And after Jimmy Jackson…Toni Braxton!

Hawks could be a good fit for sure.

    look out mike bibby!

So Jason Kidd’s going to the bench in Dallas? Don’t see how that would work. Mike Bibby’s going to the bench in Atlanta while their future PG Jeff Teague moves to third string? Don’t see that either.

They would probably have to include Teague in the deal. And send Bibby to the bench.
I wonder who else they would have to trade? Marvin Williams? That might suck, since he’s a good fit if they just had a good point guard.
Plus, how do Harris and Joe Johnson share the ball?

@Nicolas Fleming, maybe I’m next! Ha!

also shoulda never gave JJ that huge extension. 65 mill committed for next year, how much of that will be johnson alone?

Anyone who says the Hawks shouldn’t have fired Woodson clearly has seen fewer than five Hawks games in their life prior to this season.

Jamal Crawford for Devin Harris straight up.

Since they aren’t getting Carmelo Anthony, it really makes no sense for New Jersey to get rid of Devin Harris. He seems like their most viable building block.
