Jarrett Jack Arrested for DUI

Jarrett Jack was nabbed for speeding and driving under the influence over the weekend. The AJC reports: “New Orleans Hornets guard Jarrett Jack, who helped lead Georgia Tech to the 2004 NCAA title game, was arrested in Gwinnett County early Sunday on charges of DUI, speeding and failure to maintain his lane, police said. Jack, 27, who has an Atlanta address, was stopped in a black Mercedes-Benz shortly after 4 a.m. for speeding on U.S. 78 westbound near McGee Road, Snellville police said. He was driving 66 in a 45 mph zone, police said.”

1st…oh my, when are we ever gonna learn?

What a moronic decision. If he was DUI he couldve actually got into a serious accident and been fatally injured. Very stupid decision…regardless of what he had taken. This will probably result in a suspension by the league right? Would this fall into the category of the anti-drug policy of the L, if lets just say, he had been drinking? Im thinking no…

bashmo — It’s generally a team decision to suspend, and there’s a 1 or 2-game suspension usually given for DUI.

MUBWAR — DUI is a huge mistake in judgment made by people of all incomes.

MUBWAR, if dude wasn’t rich the only difference is he would’ve been pulled over in his hometown instead of in NO, and he’d a been driving like a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis instead of a Mercedes-Benz.
Being rich doesn’t make you stupid. Being stupid makes you stupid.

Since a couple of commenters here appeared to be SO APPALLED at the minimal punishment athletes receive for drunk driving–in defense of Mike Vick’s sentence for dog fighting(wtf?!)–I’m just wondering where Bryan Crawford, JTaylor, and Tarzan Cooper are at to condemn Jarret Jack?

  • tavoris

66 in a 45…in Georgia? Does he have Georgia plates?

  • tavoris

Teddy-I don’t see the connection between the two
