Kings to Trade Carl Landry

The deal should be finalized today, sending Landry to New Orleans in exchange for Marcus Thorton, David Andersen, and cash considerations. From the Sac Bee: “Carl Landry expects to change ZIP codes within 48 hours, leaving Sacramento, where he’s been for a year, and heading to New Orleans … The anticipated departure of the well-liked Landry wasn’t even available as an excuse for the loss [to the Miami Heat] because only coach Paul Westphal was aware that trade conversations had intensified. After the game, the players watched as a cluster of reporters crowded around Landry, who seemed a bit curious himself, seeking details about his next destination. He had heard previously about possibilities in Portland, Oklahoma City and Houston. And he heard New Orleans, which reportedly will swap shooting guard Marcus Thornton. ‘In the back of my head, you never know,’ Landry said. ‘You think about it. I’ve been through it before, been with other players who have been through it before.’”

Glad to see him go to a winning team. I like his game a lot, and it was wasted in Sacto.

Now I feel bad for Marcus Thornton. Hopefully they give him an opportunity.

We don’t have a 2guard. He will get many opportunities.

So Belineli is coming off the bench. Didn’t even know the reason he was stating in the first place

Good Trade for the Kings. Landry hasn’t been getting the minutes his skills deserve cause we have D-Cuz, Thompson, Greene, Casspi Whiteside and Dalembert (now David Anderson). THat is some good froward depth for young team. + we get Marcus THorton, a legit scoring 2 who doesn’t need the ball all the time to be effective.

Since Okafor is injured, I guess this is good for both teams.

As a fan of the Hornets I like the move.
As a fan of Buckets and the Hornets, this is killing me.
As a fan of Buckets, I like the move.

And since Allball will be here shortly: What do you think of this?

Very good trade for both teams. Landry will fill up some holes in Nola and Thorton gives the Kings a much needed scoring flurry starting or not.

@albertbarr, Marcus Thornton doesn’t need the ball to be effective? He is a scorer. He will need the ball.
