Skills Challenge Field: Rose, Westbrook, Curry, Wall

The All-Star Skills Challenge “battle” tomorrow night will be between these four stud point guards. Per the press release: “Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder were selected by fans to compete against Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets in the 2011 Taco Bell Skills Challenge on Feb. 19, at Staples Center in Los Angeles. For the first time, the NBA and Taco Bell gave fans the opportunity to determine participants in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge as part of the ‘Choose Your Squad’ program.  From Jan. 27 through Feb. 15, fans could choose their squad of four players out of eight candidates online at NBA.com/chooseyoursquad. Along with the four players chosen to compete, fans also had the opportunity to vote for Baron Davis of the Los Angeles Clippers, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, Derek Fisher of the Los Angeles Lakers and Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs.”

Not trying to be funny, but how in the Heck did Wall get in this competition over Williams, Nash or Paul. Unless they declined. Just because you are number one pick, you shouldn’t be handed things. Let Wall earn it. I would rather have Brandon Jennings.

Paul is already in the competition. But Wall over Deron AND Nash??? I can’t put my head around it. I’m probably expecting Rose to win it…… *secretly know that CP3 is gonna make me eat my words…….on one leg.*

And in eighth place, with 0% of the vote, Derek Fisher.

yea cp is playing injured again..its frustrating because he could just sit for a few games rather than play and make himself stupid on the court and risk aggravation of his leg… i seriously think the nba should play less games per regular season

  • Morgan

@J.C – haha, first thing I thought when I read his name too.

Well, I think fans actually got it right in this case.
They should do the same with the dunk contest, because let’s face it, Javale and Ibaka don’t belong there.

    No Rondo? Please!

Deron or Nash wasn’t a choice for fans to pick unless I missed them on the ballot .

Rose is gonna win, he woulda won last year if D12 didnt injure his ass……

  • Bullsfan

Rose will win with 4 seconds to spare. Cp would have a chance if he wasn’t hurt

I’m a Lakers fan so I can tell you that D-Fish in the Skills Challenge makes as much sense as him being in the Dunk contest. I predict Fisher flops from contact by those stationary NBA logo’s the players have to dribble around.

As a Jazz/D-Will fan I shouldn’t respond positively to Russell Westbrook getting a shot being he is a division rival, but he’s probably the most under rated PG in the league. He can distribute, defend, and score with any guard out there…. top 5 pg in my opinion!

P.S. D-Will has the record… doubt its goin anywhere!
