Troy Murphy Bought Out: Boston or Miami Bound?

Troy Murphy is back on the open market, with the Heat and Celtics considered the leading candidates to acquire his services: “The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics have emerged as the leaders to sign forward Troy Murphy, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com. Murphy, who was traded last week to the Golden State Warriors after spending nearly two months in exile with the New Jersey Nets, completed a buyout agreement Sunday. Sources said that the Portland Trail Blazers also expressed interest in Murphy but he is deciding between the two East powers.”

He’ll go the Celts….he has to know that the Heat will allot minutes to Haslem in about 4 weeks, and he might not get the same burn he’ll get in Boston. At least it sames that way.

Def. would like to see him come to Boston. I would prefer Dalembert.

It’s not like he didn’t get burn from coach Avery. 16 min per, 34% from the field, 17% from deep, 53% from the line.
Good riddance, I hope the Celts pick him up so he can fu*k $hit up over there.

He can contribute in Boston, especially if Jermaine is useless the rest of the way. Don’t see him fitting in Miami. The Spurs or Bulls should go at him on the low.

Jermaine O’neal is exactly the player i thought he was going to be, smh. When troy murphy is your most sought after acquisition then theyre doomed.

  • Jose

    He’ll pick beantown

Eboy – Why do you think he will get more run in Boston then Miami? I don’t see that at all, when Shaq comes back the Celtics will have Garnett, Davis, and Green as their 4 rotation. Shaq, Krstic as their centers, with Jermaine O’neal still on his way back (he is coming back right?). In Miami Murphy would at worst be the 3rd big in the rotation, can’t see how he would get less minutes their.

You honestly think they’ll play Krstic over Murphy at the 5? Murphy/Davis/Green/West/WAFER in the second string rotation with Krstic coming in sporadically because of Shaq’s inevitable foul trouble. I really don’t see JO doing anything at all except for getting hurt and fouling out.
