Andrew Bynum: Suspended For a Couple Games

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin drops the knowledge: “The NBA handed out a two-game suspension for Lakers‘ Andrew Bynum on Sunday. Bynum was suspended without pay for a flagrant foul 2 against Minnesota’s Michael Beasley. It happened in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 106-98 victory on Friday when Bynum turned his shoulder and sent Beasley crashing to the court in a mid-air collision when Beasley drove the lane. ‘Andrew’s [foul] looked bad and the kid fell hard,’ said Lakers coach Phil Jackson after the Timberwolves game.”

He deserves way more than 2 games!

Bynum was as rough as my gyn after my one night stand. Anywho, glad that big baby got suspended.

  • runNgun

The suspension should have been extended for a few more games; that foul could have ended Besley’s career. I watched the replay on that a few times and Beasley fell pretty hard on his hip; he was lucky his elbow didn’t get messed up from that fall. Bynum put a big elbow into his chest when Beasley was going to posterize him. Tsk, tsk, tsk… try that out in the Garden with the Knicks and Bynum would be walking out with more than a bruised hip.

  • Josh

runNgun, you are a retard man. If anything, a two game suspension is a little much. Throw him out and give him the 1 game suspension that comes with a flagrant 2. There have been harder fouls this year without suspensions so slow your roll.

Yeah Carmelo would have slapped and backpedaled Andrew
    to death.

  • Shameless

That foul didn’t just look hard Phil, that was a definitive flagrant 2. Zero attempt to play the ball, good thing Beasley is alright.

Where’s Shaq’s gigantic elbow when we need it?!?!?!

  • Ben Ireland

Runngun, are you really saying the Knicks are a tough team? Maybe at one stage… Long ago…
Altho Melo could hit someone… But that’s about it.

  • Shameless

Yeah boy Melo would give a B’more B’slap!

  • Sarah

Cosign Shameless @ 5:11. Typical Phil Jackson BS.

  • IAMORANGE4EVER

    Bynumb is such a punk.

  • http://slamonline.com LakeShow

He shouldn’t have done that. I feel bad for B-Easy. Play the ball man. The ball! Everyone can respect a hard foul. No one can respect an unnecessarily hard foul.

I feel like if Dwight or Stephen Jackson did this they’d be suspended for way more than two games…

Saw the vid. Credit to Beasley and the wolves for being in check.

Credit to NBA for their strict rules. the Bench would’ve have cleared if this happened last year.

  • Bulls2011champs

Gotta give Beasley credit for hopping right back up and talkin’ some sh*t to Bynum after that fall. Where is the love?

  • James aka…

Pathetic exhibition of sportsmanship. The exact same dirty move that collapsed gerald wallaces lung. I retroactively approve of shaq’s forearm shiver into bynum.

  • http://bugmarley.com Leonel

How about that look Bynum gave Beasley? And what is Barnes’ problem?

  • http://klatschendom.wordpress.com/ speedy

    The golden rule.
‘Treat others as you would like to be treated.’
Does Andrew sometimes think about what he does.

  • Riggs

what a b*tch, but hey thats laker players for ya. Love that beasley hopped right up and talked smack to the entire team not only bynum.

  • marc

im a lakers fan but what bynum did was uncalled for. He was just mad that beasley was getting highlights. and from that angle bynum could have easily contested the shot without fouling.

  • http://Badnewzb8ller Badnewzballer

    Whammy juice!

  • Detroit Dave

I think what’s worse is that nobody else from the Wolves even tried to get in Bynums face.
(Charles Barkely voice) “Tom Gugliotta is rolling over in his grave right now”

  • http://klatschendom.wordpress.com/ speedy

    @ Detroit Dave.
I saw that a lot of Wolves players were with him.
Why should they get silly T’s in a game that is still on the line.

  • Detroit Dave

I agree with you to a certain extent, but I can’t let one of my teammates get blantantly attacked and not even show any signs of anger about it.

Think about any good team. Do you think the Celtics would allow anybody to send one their players to the floor like that?

U think the NY Yankees will allow someone to keep intentionally hitting Jeter?

Do you think James Harrison is gonna let the Ravens’ hit Rothlisberger late play after play without laying Flacco out?

  • B-More Mike

Detroit Dave: We don’t hit Ben late. It’ll be the same if Troy hit Joe late, Ray is coming for someone’s head.

  • Detroit Dave

lol @ B-More—-agreed. I just saw a quote from Kobe sayinig “I’m proud of him, he earned his stripes”

@ Speedy, I’m not mad at the play. It was dirty and dirty plays happen everyday. Just mad that T-Wolves don’t look like a team. I could see if this was a pick up game with 5 strangers on the court, but doesn’t TEAMMATES mean anything to those dudes.

Speedy if you and I spent 5 months out the year giving our blood, sweat and tears of hard work and I saw you flying helplessly thru the air, please believe it woulda been more than just one person being ejected.

  • http://www.slamoline.com Max

Beasy could’ve pulled a Bogut on that.

  • TL

@runNGun – Nothing would happen if the same foul happened in New York. Melo might try to punch/slap someone and then back pedal like a sissy. We all know damn well that NBA players can’t fight.

  • http://klatschendom.wordpress.com/ speedy

    Good point Detroit Dave.
It’s great to know that someone is backing you up.
But these guys know that they have to finish the game to do a good job and earn their money.
If this was a pick up game and this was one of my close friends I would go nuts too.

  • http://google c_cantrell

what the hell are yal talkin about? someone is an official badass for talkin sh*t to the team? so if someone can talk sh*t, then they must be a badass n must deserve some love from all you queers right? if he woulda got up and laid bynum on his ass then i would show some love.. anyone can talk sh*t

  • http://klatschendom.wordpress.com/ speedy

    @Max
Do you really think Bogut ‘pulled’ something.
Beasty can be happy that he didn’t get injured seriously.
